ParticipantAccording to reports the Browns are making and taking a lot of calls reguarding the #4 pick.

ParticipantAnd you were expecting . . .? They’re covering all their bases in case Chubb isn’t there at #4. End of story.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!

ParticipantThat’s my first thought, another thought is they want a CB and dropping down would put Ward or Jackson in play plus get future picks.

KeymasterIf I owned the 4th pick in the draft and one team was trying to move up to get their QB but weren’t offering enough, you know what I’d leak to the press? “Browns looking to move 4th overall pick, multiple teams interested”

KeymasterNow the narrative has changed. Instead of “Browns making calls” it’s “Browns receiving calls for #4” which makes a lot more sense.

ParticipantEither this may be the greatest smoke screen they have ever done, or they are truly stooges and will trade away the 4th pick and draft baker number 1.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

ParticipantWhile I’m not totally sold on Baker, trading the 4th pick for the right price would be a no brainer if you get what you want and still get a player at a position of need.

The haul would have to be astronomical. Absurd. Totally irrational.
Minimum 2 1sts and 2 2nds just to even start talks. And from there it depends on how far down are we moving. Down into the 20’s? It would cost you your franchise. I’m talking Ricky Williams-level price tag.

KeymasterIf one of the top 3 QB’s is still on the board and Denver wants to trade spots with you (only move from 4 to 5) what would you want from them? They’re going for a QB; you’re still going to get the exact same player that you would get at 4.

I see what you’re getting at here, but in your scenario the Browns have already drafted their QB at 1 and will be going BPA at 4. What incentive is there for Denver to move up 1 spot to grab a guy that will be there for them at 5 anyway?

KeymasterBecause if they don’t, Buffalo will offer us two 1sts this year and next year’s 1st or 2nd. Also Arizona will be calling with an offer.

All of it.
