This is interesting. I wonder if the plan is to “Hoyer” him. Put him into the starting role. Manziel’s career is pretty much over. he still doesn’t understand the schemes/routes. He doesn’t have a quality arm (for people who are going to talk about 50 yard throws – it’s not how far it can be thrown – it’s how much zip is on the ball for things like out patterns). This is very intriguing because that’s hefty dough for a 3rd string QB.

McCown probably won’t be starting by the seasons end and probaby won’t be on the team next year so I don’t blame them for signing a 3rd string QB for 2 more years.
I hope he realizes that at some point he most likely will be thrown in and crushed like a walnut.

The important number is $500,000 guaranteed, which is peanuts for a QB. Saves us the trouble of shopping for a backup next year.
