MDP Sack Attack
ParticipantGreat, they’re moving training camp South to Columbus and now we’ll probably have one less home game. This team really loves its loyal hometown fans.

ParticipantI wonder what they mean by “to play”?

ParticipantWell, if the NFL is trying to educate the British market on football, it’s often said the best way to learn is through failure…

ParticipantBy 2020 we won’t have a team anymore. Haslam goal has been to move since day 1. When we move again I’ll stop watching football for good.
Freedom!!!

Soup – I have said this all along – he wants to move this team. He has saw an opportunity to buy a poorly ran franchise on the cheap and run it completely in the ground and move them. Same thing that happened in st. louis. He should actually do it next year – it would be the least resistance. Cleveland has 2 other sports programs that are much better.
he has invested so little into the stadium besides re-doing half assed scoreboards that we originally put in the factory.

Yeah, like a two part 125 million dollar renovation plan?
You’re a fucking moron, I can’t even talk to you anymore.

ModeratorNot the point.
The atmosphere, experience, and product aren’t the point.
You say Haslam has invested “little” into the stadium. A 2-phase 125 million dollar renovation is the complete opposite of that, and blows your point completely out of the water.
Whether you personally like the improvements, or whether the experince on gameday have changed in a positive way at all are completely irrelevant, and a totally different argument. If you want to argue whether or not the renovations suck, are awesome, or anything in between, we can do that. We can have that discussion. Maybe we’d even agree (I think the scoreboard is both hideous AND stupid). But to say that “little” has been invested is wrong. It is wrong, and there’s no way to argue it because it’s factually fucking wrong.
You’re wrong, and have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. Again. It’s becoming a thing with you every time you speak now.

Personally, I think the improvements made a huge difference. The old video screens were TINY. You couldn’t see jack or shit when they showed replays. The new screens and audio actually get the crowd into the game, when the team isn’t a joke.
The drum line is ridiculous, I’ll give you that. But the crowd goes nuts when swagger comes out.
How much money would Haslam have to invest to convince you he’s not cheap? What’s the number you’ve arbitrarily come up with?? Because paying multiple coaches and the stadium renovations aren’t enough, just wondering what would do it.

Don’t ask solid, sound questions. You’ll get nonsensical, mythical answers.
You can’t be us, stop trying to be us.
Well it’s not even close. Both scenarios portray a smart guy arguing with a dumb guy. But in ours, the smart guy is way, waaaaay smarter than your smart guy and the dumb guy is way, waaaaay dumber than your dumb guy. If the separation between you and Soup intellectually is say, the Grand Canyon, the separation between Dude and myself is the distance between the Milky Way and Andromeda. So the entertainment value between you two is far superior.
Enjoy your enviable cockpits.
Now as for London…… Holy shit, I don’t how I’m even able to be surprised anymore. Just when I think that this team can’t possibly make a worse decision at a worse time, they completely prove me wrong. The only spin I can possibly put on this is, I guess since the league is so hell bent on doing this year after year, it’s best for the Browns to get their turn out of the way now, so that in a few years when we’re good (oh yeah, I chuckled a bit as I typed that. Snorted too) the fans don’t have to worry about having a home game ripped away from us. Do it now when they suck ass and no one honestly gives a shit.

You’re wrong, and have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. Again. It’s becoming a thing with you every time you speak now.I am going to lay this out for you –
1) I need a link to respond to your 125 million argument – I have no clue where you got this number – in fairness, you should post this – remember we’re not going off Soups made up numbers anymore.
2) Great players have as big of contracts he is spending in the factory of sadness.
3) My experience there has been negative now for 15 fucking years. I can have an opinion on whatever the fuck I want.

ModeratorI need a link to respond to your 125 million argument
“Browns President Alec Scheiner said in an interview in January that the two-year, $125-million stadium renovation plan was conceived with one goal – enhancing the fan experience.”
“Fans will notice brighter concourses, new Cleveland-centric art and more local cuisine. It’s part of Phase II of the $125 million renovations to the stadium.”
Hey look, right fuckin’ here too
“Browns’ two-year, $125 million renovation of FirstEnergy Stadium nears completion” – It’s the title of the fucking article.
“The second phase of a two-year, $125 million stadium renovation has begun at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland. New food and beverage offerings as well as suite- and club-level renovations highlight this year’s upgrades.”
Here’s a video of Alex Scheiner talking about all of the renovations. Go ahead, watch our team President show it all off
Stop talking. End the conversation. Cease and desist. Shut up, sit down.

ParticipantI think me requesting a link from you because you were using Soup’s numbers in another thread is well justified. I honestly did not know about this. Besides the scoreboard, which I would say is an improvement, I didn’t know there was any renovation going on.

Speaking of scoreboards, that’s me 2, you 0.

Lol which was?
I was too busy beating down another off-base, nonsensical, factless, erroneous, fabricated, untrue, and completely wrong statement of yours when you said that Haslam has invested “very little” into the stadium. After that idiotic rubbish came out of your mouth I pretty much stopped focusing on any other points you were making because I just presumed that like that one, they all were equally as wrong. So, my apologies. Please, remind me, what was the original point?
That he wants to move the team? Was that it?

ParticipantDecember 16, 2016 at 12:32 am #7026Shooter
ModeratorOkay.
Yeah, he’s not moving the team.
There’s a laundry list of reasons why, but the easiest is, simply, he can’t.
Not only is there a lease with the city that would be financially crippling, but when he bought the team from Randy Lerner, there were multiple clauses in the sale that basically said (and obviously I’m paraphrasing here) he’s not allowed to move the team and any attempts to do so, would result in the immediate forfeiture of the team.
He can’t move the team. Even if he wanted to. It was a major, major, iron-clad legal stipulation in his purchase that the NFL itself signed off on in the sale.
Jimmy Haslam is legally bound, by law, the league, AND the city of Cleveland, to keep the team in Cleveland, and there’s absolutely nothing he can do about it.
He either owns it, and it stays in Cleveland, or he can sell it. But he can’t move it. He’s not allowed.
So, that ends that.
Any other conspiracy theories you’d like to address that I can destroy for you?
