It’s a lot to give up for a guy with Goff’s resume.
Why can’t we just trade loser Hue?
Because if you trade a loser, you get a loser in return. Itd be a lateral move that only losers would make. Better to lose with the one that brought you rather than go through another losing cycle with a different loser.

While the Rams would not make this trade for obvious reasons; it’s interesting hypothetically. Would you trade our #1 for a young QB with a great pedigree who has shown he can succeed in the NFL? Or do you prefer one of the rookies in this class? How does this class stack up against recent ones?
Daniel Jeremiah has said that Darnold has the highest grade for him in this draft class, and that it tied for the highest in last years class with Wentz.
Honestly I might take Darnold over Goff, because Darnold has barely begun to grow up. He’s a 20 year-old reshirt sophomore with everything you want in a QB. If we were to trade for Goff now it would have been silly to waste that 3rd rounder on Taylor.
Also because Soup says Goff has small hands.
See, I’d go Goff. He’s been brought up the right way (sat for the better part of a season), learned how to run an NFL team and put up nearly 4000 yards and nearly 30 TDs, with 62% completion. I’m not sure what higher of a ceiling any if these kids have, but the risk would certainly not be worth passing up that level of production.
