The Browns are trying to move down, but stay in the top 10 and amass as many picks as we can. That’s exactly what I’d do if I were targeting Lynch. All aboard the LYNCH TRAIN!!! CHOO CHOOO
Who do you think we’re targeting?
April 19, 2016 at 11:52 am #4850ShooterModeratorWho do you think we’re targeting?
The guy with the best combined algorithm scores.
April 19, 2016 at 12:17 pm #4851soupParticipantThe only reason to trade down is because the Rams (as all NFL teams are aware) are going to grab Goff – the only QB worth a pick that high. the Browns have no desire for Wentz as he’s a mid round prospect that can’t hit the broad side of a barn.
Same old story. Browns win enough games to screw themselves out of a QB, will collect multiple first round picks, will use them on shit players that will be out of the NFL sooner than later.
Stay at #2 and pick Ramsey as the safety is the lynchpin of the 3-4 defense and right now we have no safeties.

April 19, 2016 at 2:47 pm #4852IceKeymasterAs usual, I disagree with Soup. Just because you think Wentz is a dud doesn’t mean the NFL agrees. He’s gonna go high in the 1st round, likely 1st overall. It’s possible the Rams moved up for Goff but just like you I’m inserting my bias against Goff into the mind of the Rams ownership and just assuming they agree. How come I can do it and you can’t? Because I’m not trying to jedi-mind-trick a top QB prospect into the mid rounds. You don’t have the skills for that.
April 19, 2016 at 5:30 pm #4853DawgPoundDudeParticipantWell, Rams have scheduled private workouts with both guys so…they are David Copperfielding the shit out of the draft.
And with the holes we have, draft picks won’t hurt. That said, I’d like us to get an elite player too. And if it is one of those quarterbacks that seems to be thrown under the bus by some of you lovely folks (see what I did there?), I’m fine with that too.
I can only hope these guys know what the fuck they’re doing this time. If not…well, there’s always Buffalo. I got options.
April 19, 2016 at 8:45 pm #4859ShooterModeratorLatest coming out is Eagles swapping with us at 8, offering a 3rd rounder this year and a 1st and 3rd next year.
This offer is so awful, and so very Browns-like, I expect it to be announced as official sometime tomorrow.

I can always count on you to make wildly absurd, overstated, and completely irrational statements bereft any factual substance, yet rife with tunnel-visioned nonsensical opinion desperately and poorly passed off as just that.
I can only hope these guys know what the fuck they’re doing this time.
So many snappy things to say here, yet all I can really do is shrug and open a beer.
As usual, I disagree with Soup.
We should talk with the U.S. Post Office, see if we can get this put on a stamp.
April 19, 2016 at 9:13 pm #4863ShooterModeratorI also don’t know why all of you are arguing about these QB’s anyway.
I’ve said it 1,000 times and I’ll say it again. RG3 is our starter. That’s why he was signed.
I suggest you all keep repeating that as well (as many times as needed for it to actually sink in too), because it’s the truth, and the sooner you come to that realization the sooner you can begin to get over the bitter disappointment of the Browns not drafting a QB in the 1st round this year. Because they aren’t, and I know you all will be.
April 20, 2016 at 7:59 am #4876IceKeymasterWe’re drafting a QB within the first 2 rounds. The only question is who. That’s why we’re talking QB’s.
Lynch Train FTW! If we pull off that trade with Philly and get Lynch I’ll be thrilled.*
Disclaimer – Based on recent history that means Lynch will suck and we’ll piss away all the picks we got in return for trading down.

So I was wrong that Manziel wasn’t a first round talent? I was wrong we shouldn’t have traded up for Quinn and that Weeden wasn’t first round material? I know as much as Kiper and Mayock. So do you. Wentz is not a 1st round talent.

I posted the highlight reel. Aka the best Wentz has to offer. It’s late off target throws that receivers must adjust on. Just like Mallet and Derek Anderson. It’s based in fact. Read any weakness on him – his ball placement is pure shit

April 20, 2016 at 10:43 am #4881IceKeymasterSoup, I’d be impressed with your QB analysis except for two things.
1) All you do is say that every QB is gonna suck. Statistically most QB’s do suck. This is not any innate talent on your part.
2) Charlie Frye.April 20, 2016 at 11:14 am #4886ShooterModeratorWe’re drafting a QB within the first 2 rounds.
I have no doubt a QB will be drafted this year. Just not early. If Lynch is still there at 32, then yes I could see it as possible. If not though, the browns will go the 3rd or 4th round route and grab a Hackenburg/Cook or God forbid Cardale Jones.
April 20, 2016 at 11:19 am #4887ShooterModeratorIt’s based in fact.
Lmao. Your infamous last words.
It’s based in you, seeing what you want to see Soup. I can’t recall an argument of yours over the past 15 years that isn’t.

You mean the guy I called a 3rd round prospect who was taken in round 3? That guy? Or Brady Quinn who you begged for over Joe Thomas while I told you to take Thomas and reamed out Savage for trading up for Quinn?
I posted the highlight reels – AKA Wentz best – you refused to comment saying you want full games – that’s fine and dandy – but what did you see in the HIGHLIGHTS? (FYI – until March Mayock had never heard of Wentz. As I said – we know as much as they do).
Here’s a game for you of all his throws:
First throw has no idea the blitz is coming from the right – should throw to the right to the wide open guy – instead stares down his target.
You’ll see some really nice throws – then the proverbial Derek Anderson wide open guys way off target. You’ll see him throw inside on a deep throw where the receiver makes a great play – had he actually thrown it to where he should it’s an easy TD. Multiple times his deep throw sucked.
You’ll also see what I said – he’s a read option QB. We don’t run a read option.
Here’s a second game:
What on earth makes you think he’s a 1st round talent? Bear in mind he’s playing against high school caliber players. I expect a 1st round talent to be CONSISTENT. Which he isn’t even remotely close to that. I expect him to be on point on his throws with little WR adjustment. I expect way more than this mid-round talent gives. Make Wents 6’2″ with the same exact outcomes/plays and no one would even look twice at him.
He’s a read option QB who has the throwing ability of Derek Anderson.
