    Garret – A+

Peppers – F-. Grade is actually lower than that being that they could’ve had Hooker. Remember – I HATE OSU. So this isn’t me being a homer. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The Garret pick is a no-brainer. Peppers is wait and see. He has all the “potential” in the world, just a freakish athlete and swiss army knife type of player. If he can become a Troy Polamalu, or even a Tyron Matthieu it’s an excellent pick.

Let’s also not forget that it came at a position of immense need. There were a lot of people that had Peppers rated higher than Hooker, so really it’s a toss-up as to who is or is going to be, the better player.

I’ll grant that he has questions, but the upside is huuuuuuuuuuge.

Calling the pick an F- is……well ya know it’s that kind of shit that has you saddled with that sigline.

The Peppers pick worries me. But, if it’s to be believed, this is a Greg Williams pick through and through. Looking at some highlights on him (I know, highlights), the dude plays like a freak. We probably won’t see him in the same roles we saw at Michigan, but he certainly has the potential to be something special.

David Njoku looks to be a bad mofo…eventually. We used a 4th to move up 4 spots to get him. This investment may not pay off in year one, but has the potential to be an A+ pick. Clean up that blocking, and we might have a steal.

And Garrett is…well, I can’t add to the 150,000 articles already written on him.

So far, I like this draft. Let’s hope day 2 produces more good stuff.

Peppers has 1 interception and 1 FF in his career. He’ll get toasted against the run and can’t cover. Hooker could’ve been the line safety and gives QBs fits on the deep ball. Now Brown will continue to destroy us. If Peppers isn’t on par with the play of Hooker this is a huge swing and major miss.

What?? His play against the run is one of his major strengths. I don’t know how you come with that take.

LOL @Soup, are you thinking about someone else? Peppers played a little LB in college too.

I forget what game it was, but I watched a Mich game this past year and Peppers took that game over. He was running back kicks, all over the field on defense. Had his name called every 5 minutes. In 2 years this will be Soup’s favorite player. Picture Josh Cribbs but on defense.

Cut backs in the NFL will kill him. I’m aware he played LBer in college as well as 436 other positions. He’s an athlete, not a football player.

Do you understand how amazingly contradictory that statement is?

He played Safety, Linebacker, Slot corner, Kick returner, Punt returner, Wide Receiver and Running Back. He’s as much of a football player as anyone could possibly be. That’s just an idiotic statement. It’s like saying that someone who plays Catcher, 1st-base, 3rd base, Left field and bats both ways isn’t a baseball player and is “just an athlete”.

Having a player of this caliber is necessary in the modern NFL. That versatility is needed. As long as he has it in between the ears, is coachable, and can grow into the Pro game, his presence could be a major boon to a defense bereft of playmakers. I’d love to have a guy that can blitz (he can), cover Tight Ends (he can), fire through gaps and stop the run (he can), lay the wood (he can), and cover (he can).

I watch players like Eric Weddle and Tyronn Mattheiu running all over the field, making plays everywhere going “man, I wish the browns could get a guy like that”. I watched Troy Polamalu do it his entire career, being a nuisance as a sideline to sideline player (Peppers is VERY much that) and wished I could see a player like that on the Browns. Now we have one.

They didn’t draft him to stick him at strong safety and say “just do your job”. They drafted him specifically for that versatility.

Saying he “isn’t a football player”……I can’t even have a rational discussion with takes like that.

Lol he started 9 games at LB last year. Soup would have you believe that this guy is a useless bum.

Soup Hates versatile dynamic players. See McCaffery and Peppers.

False, I hate players who have no real position so to speak. He’s a jack of all trades, master of none.

And Mcaffery is a white RB. It’s over for him.

Man, something tells me you’re about to be pigeonholed into another sig bet with predictive statements such as this.

Be careful, Soup. Miss Cleo doesn’t have all the answers.

Well he’s a safety, but Harbough had him playing out of position all year last year and basically asked him to do everything. Both have admitted as much.

What you’re saying is, you don’t like sideline to sideline safeties that can blitz, shoot the gaps and stop the run, and cover.

Is that what you’re saying? Or are you saying you’re having a knee-jerk overreaction? Or is it both?

    It’s both isn’t it lol?
