The excuse he’s going with is that he just had his car shipped up from Florida where his friends have been driving it for weeks. They must have left the weed in there.He was already in step 1 of the NFL drug program because of his diluted sample at the combine. This will move him to step 2. Step 3 is where he gets suspended.
I have no clue why this is still on the suspendable list. It’s no secret that the product on the field use it. Some guys swear it helps them heal faster.

I agree with you. It’s certainly not performance-enhancing and as long as they aren’t so addicted they have to smoke up at practice and before games it isn’t really affecting their football career at all.
But until the rule is changed, you have to abide by the rule. How stupid do you have to be to get caught at the combine? How much stupider do you have to be to get caught with it and NOT TELL THE TEAM? Did he think they wouldn’t find out!?!

There is zero reason why this drug should be illegal.There are places where tabacco use is grounds for firing. If you sing up to work there then it is undertood that you will get fired if you do. The NFL is no different with weed same as the military and other institutions.
It isn’t about what is legal or illegal. It is what you agree to to get employment and what happens when break that agreement. Ether you are a man of your word or you aren’t.

Sorry, no but. If you know a player is a fucking moron and is going to be a problem off the field, cut bait and just be done with it. I love what Dorsey is doing to the browns, and I love that the culture of this team is starting to turn around, but at the same time he strikes me as the kind of guy that turns a blind eye to things that happen off the field as long as the players produce on it.

I’ve always felt MLB has the most common sense drug policy. You get tested regularly for PEDs (including HGH, which I don’t think the NFL does). Any other illegal substances are only tested for if there’s reason to. As in, if you get busted with a Daryl Strawberry’s worth of cocaine by the cops, you’ll likely be subjected to a test for it your next time around.
