Just coming to say the same thing. That’s crazy. That’s one way to get Chubb and Duke carries

    Holy…..

That’s crazy! I was just thinking to myself “You know what this offense needs? Less running backs.”

This might be one of those situations where the OC has control over who plays and either the HC or the GM disagreed with him so they just traded the guy away. Problem solved? Hue has been saying for 3 weeks now that we need to get Chubb more carries and it hasn’t happened.

My only concern is what this shows to the other vets. Hyde was far from a bad player.

Win-win. I like Hyde and he’s a good player, but at his age (28) he’s a win-now type of player, and this is a building team. We need to focus on building for the future and developing current talent, in this case, Chubb.

Once we drafted Chubb, I thought Hyde became redundant. And with Duke as good as he is, there’s just no good way to split up carries. Good move all around.

That is, until one of RBs gets hurt this week, because that’s just how the Browns do things.

Hyde was better than I expected. He’s a complete back and I think his ability to pick up a blitz (and Chubb’s lack) probably were the main reason Chubb wasn’t getting carries. Also Chubb has been trying to bounce everything outside.

    value wise WTF…

Hyde was doing his job that he was brought into to do.

I don’t get this trade from any prospective……

When they signed him, they didn’t have Chubb. Once they were able to draft Chubb and he has shown potential, they didn’t need Hyde anymore. Furthermore, splitting carries 3 ways has hindering Chubb development.

If they start giving Chubb more carries, there’s the possibility that Hyde becomes a distraction in the locker room. Trading him solves that problem before it starts.

Value wise, although Hyde is good, you don’t get much for a 28 year old RB in this league. Just the truth. Besides that, while Hyde has been good this year, it’s always better to sell a year early rather than a year late. I have no desire to relive the last years of Reuben Droughns and Jamal Lewis.

No doubt he’s gotten a lot of tough yards this year, but overall he’s averaging 3.4 YPC. Only once over 4 in a game

This is a young team. Carlos Hyde is towards the end of his career. This is a winning situation for all. Even though Hyde is much better than a 5th round pick, it gives us something while we start getting Chubb and Johnson more in the action. Next year this team can have some potential.

This team is still bad. Don’t let the couple of wins fool you. This does show that they are indeed building for the next level.

Carlos is being put on a team that desperately needs a running game. Again, all partys win…..Carlos wins more than anyone.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

My man the dude is spot on Chubb is the future and while Hyde did a great job while he was here Chubb has way more potential to be something special and he needs the reps to develop to his game.
