IceKeymasterI saw the first quarter before the tornado struck. The ‘drop’ was not what I would call a drop. He laid out and even so was only able to barely touch it with his fingertips. If he had caught it, it would have been an amazing Sportcenter catch. The throw was not good. I would say a lot of the throws were off target.
The running game was anemic again. Hard to have a good passing game without a running game.
The defense seemed to get more penetration despite the loss of our #1 pass rusher. Those young guys may end up being nice grabs and I’d much rather play them than Kreuger. Nassib seems to only get guys by the shoelace, but he always seems to get them.

ShooterModeratorSoup, calm the hell down.
Of all the concerns I have about this team, Cory Coleman doesn’t even make the list. In fact, he’s on the very short list of things I’m NOT worried about.

soupParticipantCan you expand on why his performance in his first 2 appearances doesn’t concern you? Oh, and, “it’s pre-season” isn’t an acceptable answer.
My concerns:
1. Habit of lining up wrong.
2. 1 catch for a whopping 10 yards.
3. First time a ball came his way in game 1 he bobbled it.
4. Coaches and QB have gotten to the excuse phase with “he’s pressing.”
5. Still “starting” even though he’s proving he doesn’t even know the playbook with his inability to line up. Shows entitlement due to being a 1st rounder. Why are you not concerned?

Why are you not concerned?
Yes I can, and I’ll tell you why.
He’s a rookie, and he’s really good. That’s why.
Am I concerned he keeps lining up wrong? Nope. WR is quite a transition from college to pros. Especially with verbiage in offensive systems. In many aspects it’s similar to a QB going through the same thing. He’s coming from Baylor. They ran an amazingly simplistic offense that required almost nothing from him except “go deep” or “10-yard-out”. Now he’s in the NFL and the huddle blurts out shit like “X 43 center, counter blue, right wallop dingelberry orchard, marker 5, two niner bravo post script ankle monitor”.
I wouldn’t know what the fuck I’m doing either. There’s a huge difference between “go deep” and 19 words of marble mouthed gibberish. He’s had about 3 quarters of game action, and instead of relying on ability and playing, he’s constantly thinking. That’s all going to be going away soon.
He’s a freakish athlete with sick play-making skills. He’ll be fine.

soupParticipantIt is what it is. A good explanation. While I’m still highly skeptical of him, you gave me some hope for him
