That sucks. Two tight ends, as I understand it, is kind of the key to running Stefanski’s offense effectively.

    A. It’s Rosenhaus

    B. It’s a Miami player

    C. No such thing as odd behavior with one of those factors, let alone two.

Rosenhaus is his agent. He’ll be out of the league in a year. No clue how Rosenhaus still gets players

It’s a shame. I like Njoku but honestly last year was the year he needed to prove himself and he didn’t. He got injured then somehow ended up in Freddy’s doghouse and didn’t produce at all.

It’s the typical path for the Browns. Grab a guy with a 1st round pick, guy shows flashes but not enough, Browns trade him for a late round pick, guy goes on to see some success with another team.

The fact is Njoku is not the #1 TE on this team anymore. He’s wanted out of Cleveland for a year and we have enough depth to cash out and move him. I really hope we can get a 4th for him. A 4th is better than nothing.

@ice who went in to success the way you described? He’s just another big guy with no hands.

To be fair, this is not a big loss in a vacuum. However, Njoku will be a big loss to the system we want to run. He has questionable hands, but David is a big dude who demands coverage. Hopefully the guy we drafted this season can step it up.

@soup Well no 1st rounders but a bunch of 2nd rounders.

    @dawgsoldier Keep dreaming!

@MPD From what I hear our base set will be 2 TE. With Njoku gone that means we’re relying on a mid-round draft pick as a starter and that’s not a great thing.

I don’t think that being in Freddies doghouse should be an indictment f his career. Let’s be honest.

    Also, injuries……..

That said…….dude drops more deliveries than Fedex. That’s just real. Also, bro you played two years. Showed promise in 1, did absolutely jackshit in the 2nd. Now’s not the time to in any way be bitching or griping or….whatever the fuck it is you’re doing.

And let’s be clear here on what he’s doing: Pouting. Cause we gave Hooper the big bucks, and he’s thinking “well fuck, OBJ, Landry, Chubb, Kareem, man I’m #5 at best on this list I ain’t neva gonna see the ball man so fuck it imma dip, trade me”

Fuck that. Your coach loves running two TE sets. Boo hoo, you might have to block too.

Stop pouting, catch the rock, and do your fucking job. Go win a Superbowl, then be as diva as you wanna be son, no one is gonna stop you. Until then, shut the fuck up. Youre a 1st round pick, stop being a bitch.

Actually, I don’t think this is coming from Njoku. Like Soup said, it’s coming from his agent, Rosenhaus. It’s not coincedence he made this request like a week after signing with Rosenhaus.

PFT has an article about it saying that Rosenhaus uses this tactic frequently to try to get new contracts for the players, so the agent gets paid off the new contract. It’s pretty messed up.

Obviously Njoku is a grown man and makes his own decisions, but it sounds to me like his agent is giving him some bad advice.

Hopefully Hunt’s pass catching and blocking ability can make up for the loss. Not the same position, obviously, but at the end of the day he does a lot of the same things.

He’s sticking around! That seems fairly unheard of after demanding a trade, so our front office must know what they’re doing.

Semi-related thought; with all the players opting out, this is probably a serious seller’s market for any trades.
