I favor Woods as he runs more man than zone where as wilks runs more zone than man. Those on the Roster and their skils work better in man scheme IMO.

While I agree with DS about running more man, I’d like to keep Wilks to keep SOMETHING resembling continuity with this team. We can’t keep completely overhauling the coaching staff on both sides of the ball every year and expect to be successful.

I think Wilks did an excellent job last season. The roster was torn apart most of the year and we ended up starting some guys that are probably back to tending bar now. We played the first quarter of the season without our good CB’s, which might be why we played so much zone. Except for zone coverage, I thought the scheme was good and he got good effort from the players.

The more this lingers without an announcement it looks like Joe Woods. There’d be no other reason to delay since they can’t announce it with him in the playoffs still.

I’m also on board for Wilks. Injuries were the problem on defense, not scheme.

We need to both convince Randall to return (not likely an easy sell), and also find someone who can play both safety and corner to cover for injuries.
