More trouble has found Johnny Manziel.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback was questioned by police in Avon, Ohio, on Monday after they allegedly got in an apparently heated argument while on the road. Police said alcohol was involved, but no arrests were made.
According to a police report, a witness called police after witnessing Manziel’s white Nissan pass her on the side of the road at an estimated speed of 90 miles per hour. The witness said she could tell Manziel and the woman, identified as a TCU student named Colleen Crowley, were in an argument and that Crowley had tried to exit the car while it was moving.
According to the report, Crowley wanted to call her parents, but Manziel would not give her phone. Crowley responded by throwing Manziel’s wallet out the window. Manziel pulled the car into a nearby neighborhood, where the couple continued to argue. A second witness then called police.
Manziel told police he and Crowley had been drinking in downtown Cleveland earlier that day. Police determined that neither Manziel or Crowley were intoxicated to the point that they could face charges. Crowley indicated she did not want to press charges against Manziel, and the couple was allowed to leave the scene together in Manziel’s car.
Manziel spent 10 weeks in a rehabilitation center earlier this year. Though no charges have been filed, Manziel could still be subject to discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

October 17, 2015 at 9:55 am #2463the dudeParticipantcut him….won’t root for domestic abuse.
my cousin went to jail for 10 days for taking his girlfriends phone away from him

October 18, 2015 at 12:16 pm #2464ShooterModeratorI get how there is a cause for alarm when the words “Johnny Manziel” and “alcohol” are involved in the same sentance, but I have to be honest in saying that I think this is being blown just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of proportion.
Let’s keep in mind here that:
He was charged with nothing, not even a simple traffic ticket.
He was not intoxicated, so much so that the police didn’t even bother to administer a breath test or even do a field sobriety test.
His girlfriend was drunk, threw his wallet out of the window and tried to jump out of a moving car on the freeway. Her only injuries were to her wrist, which they both admitted came from him trying to restrain her from jumping out of the car.I get the antennae going up, but the reality is that there just isn’t anything here. That there are people actually talking about suspensions, cutting him, or talking about “alcoholism” is find ridiculous.
October 18, 2015 at 9:58 pm #2469the dudeParticipant@shooter – also, he took her cell phone away from her and didn’t give it back. This is a felony in the state of Ohio. If she was drunk, he should have removed himself from the situation which I am sure he was taught in his rehab. He should never be around alcohol. He should never lay his hands on a woman.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
October 19, 2015 at 12:20 am #2472ShooterModeratorTaking someones cell phone is not a felony.
October 24, 2015 at 4:16 pm #2502DawgPoundDudeParticipantIt’d be some bullshit if he did get suspended. Think about it, if this situation happened to anyone here and no charges were filed, yet someone at your place of work caught wind of it…should YOU be suspended? Absolutely not!
I’m with Shooter here, this has been blown way out of proportion. Even has the NFL looking into it…but without the girlfriend being vindictive, and by all reports she isn’t, they got nothing.
That said, for his own sake, I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come for that kid…
October 25, 2015 at 12:47 pm #2503IceKeymasterDepends. We’re obviously short of details here but some reports have her with bruises on her arms. Maybe they’re from him trying to keep her from jumping out of a moving car.
After the disaster of the Ray Rice punishment, the NFL is VERY sensitive to their men putting hands on a woman.
October 25, 2015 at 4:07 pm #2506ShooterModeratorNot eally though Ice, ask Greg Hardy.

Its not theft?
It also is illegal to prevent someone from calling 911 – a felony.

October 26, 2015 at 6:17 pm #2513ShooterModeratorStealing someone’s cell phone, like say, a strangers, and then never giving it back, yes, is theft.
Not at all what happened.
Preventing someone from calling 911 while robbing, beating, imprisoning, or attempting to murder them, yes, is a felony.
Not at all what happened.
October 26, 2015 at 7:17 pm #2516the dudeParticipantActually. when involved in any situation that could prevent someone from calling 911 is a felony.
I literally had a relative who dated a crazy girl (and he is an idiot too), who spent 10 days in jail because they were arguing and he had her cell phone. She told the police he started looking through her text messages and wouldn’t give her the phone back. In which they charged him….I read the report.

October 26, 2015 at 10:31 pm #2523soupParticipantThat’s not a felony. 10 days in jail doesn’t = felon. As for stating ” when involved in any situation that could prevent someone from calling 911 is a felony.”
So you’re saying when teachers take kids cell phones in class it’s a felony?
Now on to reality. Johnnie Walker is a moron. He lacks any semblance of intelligence both in his life and on the field. He’s proven he’s football dumb. It’s why the offense is so dumbed down when he enters the game. He offers absolutely no value whatsoever to this team.
He admitted to drinking. I don’t give a shit that he was sober. Drinking after rehab = not serious about rehab.
The self-entitled brat has never worked a day in his entire life. Growing up his daddy handed him everything and never taught him about actual work. He’s a typical millennial who believes everything shouldn’t be handed to him just because he exists.
Cut the talentless loser and be done with it.

October 27, 2015 at 8:46 am #2526IceKeymasterI come to BrownsFootballTalk for the inspired law discussions.
This would all make fascinating conversation if Manziel was really talented. He isn’t. If we keep him after this season it’s only because Jerry Jones didn’t offer us a draft pick in return.

So you’re saying when teachers take kids cell phones in class it’s a felony?it is if they declare to a police officer they felt they were in danger and wanted to call 911. Of course a classroom full of witnesses could help clarify.

I’m Ohio minimum time a felon can serve is 6 months. Again, your friend is not a felon

October 29, 2015 at 9:12 pm #2567the dudeParticipantI would like to see a link to your accusation Soupy.
If it wouldn’t give away who I am in real life, I would show you the court records and the fact that he did get a felony. Also, he was under house arrest – so maybe you are getting confused with that.

October 29, 2015 at 9:56 pm #2569soupParticipantCan’t link on my phone. Just Google felony Ohio jail time. Class 5 felony (least felon you can be) is 6 months minimum

Yes, but what you don’t understand is they aren’t mandatory. House arrest is an option which my friend served. He had to do 10 days in jail for breaking the agreement. However, he comes from more wealth than manziel, so his father didn’t let him to any jail time – only the 10 days to teach him a lesson. And it was a 5th degree felony.

October 30, 2015 at 1:01 am #2576ShooterModeratorSorry, I’m with Soup on this one.
Ariel Castro stealing that chicks phone before he locked her in the basement for 10 years. = Felony. Arrested, hangs self in jail.
Johnny Manziel and his girlfriend driving down the highway going “give me my wallet, give me my phone, give me my wallet, I will if you give me my phone, give me fucking phone, give me my wallet, here, here’s your fucking wallet (throws wallet out of the window), how ya like that asshole, go get it now. Ya know what, fuck that, I’ll go get it myself (opens door, tries to jump out of moving car at freeway speeds). = not a felony. Cop says “your girfriend is drunk, go home”.
Understand the difference?

Understand the difference? You just took two humongous extremes. So with your comparison, it is like shooting someone on your property and it is the same as Timothy McVeigh.
