Washington might ask for that 10th overall pick in return, but I don’t know that they would get it for a guy they can’t sign and won’t play for them. But I’ll ask the simple question. Would you rather draft an LT at 10 or trade that pick for Trent Williams and give him $20m/year?
March 24, 2020 at 2:06 pm #18623ShooterModeratorWashington has asked for a 2nd rounder for Williams and had no takers.
Offering the #10 pick would be insane.
I’d give them a 3rd for him in a heartbeat and wouldn’t think twice. I might even do the 2. But #10? Hell no, I’d rather draft one.
March 24, 2020 at 2:22 pm #18624MDP Sack AttackParticipantAssuming he stays healthy, Williams could likely protect Baker’s blind side at a high level for another four or so years.
I’d take that, but I wouldn’t give up #10 overall. Definitely a second or a combination of a third and next year’s second.
Look at Greg Robinson. Offensive linemen drafted in the top ten have a higher success rate than other positions, but it’s still a crap shoot. Give me the sure thing.
March 24, 2020 at 4:06 pm #18625DawgSoldierParticipantDraft an OT at 10. Wirfs is my preference if there at 10.

March 24, 2020 at 5:10 pm #18627GABrownsFanParticipantI’d rather draft one at #10. I love Thomas, but Wirfs or Wills would be great as well. Williams hasn’t played a full season in years and wants 20 million a year. I’ll pass on Williams whatever the trade compensation is.
March 24, 2020 at 5:39 pm #18628BrownsFan4LifeParticipantJason Peters is still an option. Wouldn’t have to give up a draft pick for him.
March 25, 2020 at 7:29 am #18631soupParticipantDraft. No question. Trade limit would be a 6th round pick. 32 hasn’t played in a year and injured

No one traded for him last year, why would they this year? Even Cam Newton hit the open market. If he hits the open market we can offer him tons of cash and I won’t care. Early draft pick? No thanks

March 25, 2020 at 10:57 am #18634soupParticipantIn short. His agent is seeking the trade which means he has a list of teams to go to which will have contract demands built into the trade. He gets to pick the trade partner (so to speak). When that doesn’t happen he hits open market because he won’t strap on a helmet and play for them so he’ll get cut

March 25, 2020 at 1:48 pm #18635IceKeymasterSoup we tried to trade for him last year. Washington declined all offers on him because they wanted to be punitive.
March 25, 2020 at 3:37 pm #18636MDP Sack AttackParticipantWasn’t aware of his injury history. Pass.

It’s pretty fuckin impressive lol.

My statement was “no one traded for him last year.”
Your response is like me stating “no one in history has ever jumped over the Terminal Tower while standing net to it”
And you replying with:
“But I tried last year.”
Mid year desperation by a guy who is not with the organization doesn’t mean we are considering trading for him. Healthy 27 year old him? I’m all in on the #10 pick. 32 year old him off an injury not playing for a year while acting like a princess? No thanks

Explain the acting like a princess part. The guy was pissed at the medical staff who kept ignoring a growth on his head that turned out to be cancer. I’d b a little salty about that too.
Besides that what else is poor about his attitude?

Trent Williams was traded to the 49ers for a 5th round this year and a 3rd next year (with our suck compared to the 49ers that’s like a 6 and a 4 from us). Wasn’t to far off there Cheech.

April 25, 2020 at 8:50 pm #18915IceKeymasterI said a 2nd, he went for a 3rd and a 5th. You said a 6th. Then you said that 6th is pretty close to a 3rd and a 5th.
The streak is still alive!
