I used 2016 TOP NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS (UPDATED 1/21/2016) from CBS to make picks and their corresponding values.
@1 the Titans take a tackle to their QB upright and healthy
@ 2 The Browns swap picks with Dallas so they can get the best defender on the board Bosa and upgrade their woeful pass rush and pick Manziel. Browns get their 2nd round pick. Dallas does this to beat San Diego from taken Bosa befor them at 3.
Browns take their QB at 4 or their 2nd option at QB at for if someone jumps up to take one at 3. In this case SF jumped in front of Cleveland for Goff as Goff is more of a FIT to Chip Kelly’s offence.
1 Ten: Laremy Tunsil*, OT, Ole Miss
2 Dal (From Cle): Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
3 SF ( From SD): Jared Goff*, QB, California1,4 (From Dal): Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State Height: 6-5. Weight: 235. Ranked 17th overall by CBS
Wentz in a lot of ways is similar to the QB the Browns were rumored to have targeted 2 years ago, Blake Bortles. Big strong kid that’s athletic and has escapability and pretty good arm. Comes from a WCO pro scheme program as well so all that he learned in his 5 years at school will transfer in some form or fashion. Pep Hamilton and Wentz will likely speak the same language from the jump as Hamilton is a WCO guy.2,32: Michael Thomas*, WR, Ohio State Height: 6-3. Weight: 212. Ranked 33rd overall by CBS
All sign IMO point towards and offence like we saw in 07. A vertical passing game and a power running game. So the Browns need bigger taller WR’s for that scheme. Thomas is the BEST option at this pick2,34 (From Dal): Noah Spence, 3-4OLB, Eastern Kentucky Height: 6-3. Weight: 252. Ranked 35th overall by CBS
Spence was a value based pick that filled a need the Browns have not got to the QB well. Maybe Orchard turns it around in year 2 which is a possibility. but with A.Bryant getting arrested another pass rusher was sorely need IMO.3,65: Adolphus Washington, 3-4DE, Ohio State Height: 6-4. Weight: 295. Ranked 68th overall by CBS
Browns need another 34 DE and Washington fits the bill as well as played the 3 technique and 1 technique in an even front. So he really never needs to come off the field.4,100: Scooby Wright III*, OLB/ILB, Arizona Height: 6-1. Weight: 246. Ranked 110th overall by CBS
A 3-3-5 LB coming off a injury plagued year. The previous year the guy was in the top for TFL and Sacks. The guy is a tasmanian devil when healthy. He projects more as an ILB in my estimation.4,139 (Comp Skrine) Cardale Jones*, QB, Ohio State Height: 6-5. Weight: 250. Ranked 139th overall by CBS
I see Jones as investment opportunity to possibly turn this pick into a 1st or 2nd day pick down the road and also as descent back up option as McCown isn’t got much left in this league. This a page right out of the Red Skins and Packers play book when comes to drafting QB’s.5,141: Tajae Sharp, WR, UMASS Height: 6-2. Weight: 190. Ranked 147th overall by CBS
Set all kinds of school records this year: Massachusetts’ all-time leader in single-game receptions (15), single-season receptions (111), career receptions (277) and career receiving yards (3,486) – all set during the 2015. Kid needs to ad to his frame some but that shouldn’t be to difficult as he is still young and growing any ways. He was 17 year old freshman in college because of academics so he is smart as well.5,173 (Comp Sheard): Jordan Walsh, G, Iowa Height: 6-3. Weight: 290 Ranked 175th overall by CBS
VERY technically sound interior lineman that needs to add a bit of bulk and power. IMO it’s easier to add bulk and power than it is to teach technique.5,175 (Comp Hoyer): Austin Blythe, C, Iowa Height: 6-3. Weight: 290. Ranked 177th overall by CBS
VERY technically sound interior lineman that needs to add a bit of bulk and power. IMO it’s easier to add bulk and power than it is to teach technique. Same thing this guy as well.6,181: Tyvis Powell*, S, Ohio State Height: 6-3. Weight: 210 Ranked 186th overall by CBS
Value pick at this point as Powell play special teams well and may well be used in sub packages to cover tight ends with his height and reach.7,223: Soma Vainuku, FB, USC Height: 6-0. Weight: 255. Ranked 249th overall by CBS
A polynesian full back named (Van-Nuke-You) in a power run game. I am not sure anything else needs to be said.http://cloudassetserver.com/STL/posts/185/sp_04_976x0.jpg

January 26, 2016 at 7:35 am #3971BillWunkleParticipantThe next time DawgSoldier writes a Browns mock draft without Ohio State players will be the first time. It’s also pretty Big 10 biased. Other than that, it’s a pretty nice draft. Not sure that you couldn’t trade down a second time and still get Wentz because of the competition he faced.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
January 26, 2016 at 6:23 pm #3979DawgSoldierParticipantWentz from everything I have is in play in the top 5.
Oh and Bill 😛
