As much as some people here are obsessed with Johnson, he won’t have a career in to many other places. Probably would be solid in KC or phili…. But after that he will just be an average player. Remember sometimes when you are a bad team, sometimes average players stand out. See Duke for this example.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
Dude, you’re high. He averaged 5.0 ypc last year. That’s the same as Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley, who everybody loves.
Is he as good as those 2 players? No, is not as strong. But he’s as elusive as any body in the league in open space. And he’s a good receiver. He would have a career on ANY NFL team. That’s not even debatable.
Well the the trade dead line and hunts suspension date are rather close. I suspect that it will happen then and not before.

Well he got 6 carries and 2 catches last year in an offense that completely (and inexplicably) forgot he was on the team. I don’t blame him at all.

Sorry Duke.It’s been the story of his career. I blame it solely on Hue. Every time He touches the ball, he makes plays. Those plays were then followed by a Hue Jackson press confeence saying “we need to find ways to get him the ball more.”
Hue Jackson has to be the only idiot that can’t find ways to get the ball to a RB with great receiving ability.
I hope we keep him this season and use the absolute shit out of him. I’m not ready to trust Hunt yet. But whatever happens I wish good things for Duke because he’s a hard working guy who always gave us 100% even when he was being misused. He will have a nice career.

I don’t disagree (and Todd Haley as well), but they both got fired halfway through the season and nothing changed. So, there’s something we don’t know.
Like, why no one liked Duke Johnson. You’re spot on, he made plays whenever he touched the ball. It’s absolutely baffling.
In my defense, I liked Hue as well. I was all in on the notion that he was coaching the worst team ever assembled in the NFL and could never succeed. I still believe that, but now also know that Hue was a nincompoop. And I know that Haley was 100% ego and destructive to the team.
Wait that didn’t defend me at all.
If Duke does get traded there are some guys in the AFF fire sale that might be worth a look as a 3rd RB.
