Game balls
Chubb
Goats
Callaway has a terrible game.
All WR/TE combined for around 8 flat out drops.
Gregg Williams. Currently gave up 35 points to a terrible team. Including not closing out the game in a TD and 2 pt conversion.
When you score 42 you should win 100% of the time

September 30, 2018 at 9:55 pm #13757Dawg E. DawgParticipantAgree, Williams sucks. I’ve been sayin got since he was hired. His defense gives up yards in bunches. Just not good.
That said, the refs deserve a game ball or goat or whatever you want give them. They were the raiders 12th man. Off the top of my head:
1:) Marshawn Lynch drop kicked the ball right in front of the red. RIGHT IN FRONT IF HIM. I don’t care if it was after a bad call, you can’t just blatently it or the rules like that.
2.) saw a video on twitter where the ref, looking at Baker, ignored a hands to the face call. Looking right at Baker when it happened.
3.) the non-fumble on Carr. Wtf. They said he was “in the grip”. The GD BALL was out of his hands before anybody even gripped him!!!
4.) the 3rd down overturn. Where to start. How can you overturn that? I’ve never seen anything like it. If it was called the other way, I’d say the same thing (I said it was BS when they threw a flag on the big hit on NJoku, which they ultimately ruled wasn’t a penalty). How they overturn that call is just beyond me.
September 30, 2018 at 10:28 pm #13758mike barnesParticipantThe refs missed calls all day Myles was held so many times and no flags? the one that hurt the most was the bad spot on Hyde’s run that would have allowed us to run out the clock late in the fourth.
Chubb game ball the kid needs more touches.October 1, 2018 at 5:46 pm #13759IceKeymasterI haven’t posted because I’m still shocked.
I refuse to say that the refs are the reason we lost. The reason we lost is the mistakes WE made. You can’t turn the ball over that much and expect to win. You certainly can’t allow the freaking Raiders to score 42 points on you and expect to win.
If there’s one silver lining to this game it is that John Dorsey is looking like a genius.
October 1, 2018 at 10:01 pm #13760Dawg E. DawgParticipantCome on ice, that’s coachspeak at its finest. The raiders had 2 INTs and should’ve had a fumble if the refs hadn’t been completely incompetent. So, 3 TOs of their own.
the TOs hurt us, but by overturning that 3rd down conversion, the refs directly took the win away from us and gave he raiders a chance to win it that they didn’t deserve.
October 2, 2018 at 5:39 am #13761ShooterModeratorI’m still not over it.
The fumble that they decided to say didn’t happen was fucking bullshit.
The overturn of the 1st down…………..no words.

They fucking sucked. But they are a force of nature just like that shitty fucking field we had to play on. They had bad calls the other way too, like that roughing the passer against the Raiders when the guy barely touched Baker. Yes there were more bad calls against us, but the reason we lost is that we allowed the fucking Raiders to score 42 points on us. Calloway can’t play volleyball with passes. Up 8, we allowed them to waltz in a TD AND a 2 point conversion. There’s so many reasons we lost that are our fault it’s pointless to worry about the one reason that isn’t .
October 2, 2018 at 7:11 am #13763soupParticipant@ice, while correct, the one reason that isn’t literally was what cost is the game. If the refs don’t cheat we kneel 3 times game over. Defense must start to play. We must gain and maintain an actual lead. Number 1 priory is DT next to Ogunjobi as our run D is unacceptable and pure trash. Still not letting go of the face that James Connor, who is Terrible rushed for 135 on us.

October 2, 2018 at 7:33 am #13765ShooterModeratorI agree with Ice, his point is valid.
The Browns have still not gotten themselves to a point where they’re taking what the refs do out of the equation. They put the game in the refs hands, and until that changes, these calls will haunt us. If we were winning that game 42-14, none of it would have mattered. If the same situation happens next week to Kansas City, there’s no way in hell KC has that call overturned on them. They get the benefit of doubt because they’re undefeated and can obliterate any team right now. So can the Rams. No way that happens to them. I’be been saying this all year.
Is it fair? Fuck no it isn’t. It’s bullshit and I hate it. But until the Browns go out and start manhandling some teams, string some convincing wins together and establish themselves as something other than a woebegone, sad-sack never-do-well franchise, these calls will always go against us.
That 1st down call should have never been overturned, but we were still up 8 then. We let them score a TD, and then a 2-point conversion. That’s where a championship caliber, strong minded, winning franchise steps up, shakes off the fuckery of the refs and ends the game on their own.
The Browns didn’t, and as a result are still mired in suck as a franchise. Nobody can fix this but the Browns, and we need to take the refs out of these games like other winning teams do.

If Calloway doesn’t bat that ball up in the air we win. If the defense stops them just once on that final drive in regulation we win. Maybe if we had a kicker we trusted we win. If any one of those drops was completed we win. If Mitchell doesn’t get hurt we win. There’s a million things that went wrong that we could actually fix.
Complaining about the refs is like complaining about the weather. Yeah sometimes it sucks. You can’t do anything about it.
October 2, 2018 at 8:08 am #13768Dawg E. DawgParticipantIce, I get your point. I do. But the reefs didn’t just make a bad call. They spotted the ball, brought the chance out, called the first down, let all the Browns celebrate the win, then pulled our hearts out and showed them to us.
We should have stopped them, but football is a game of momentum, and the refs artificially gave ALL the momentum to the raiders. I would go as far as to say if it would have been ruled short of the first down initially, we probably would have won.
And for the record, the raiders are either 1 or 2 in offense or yards or yards per play. Whatever it is, their offense is toward the top of the league, even though they are 1-3. So, the refs gave the ball to one of the best offenses in the league, which is a league that is focused on helping the offense score as many points as possible.
October 2, 2018 at 9:28 am #13769Dawg E. DawgParticipantAlso, I’m not absolving the team. I did say, Williams is terrible. Even when his defense is good, it falls apart in the biggest moments every time except the Jets game. So, once in 3 years.
October 2, 2018 at 10:59 am #13770IceKeymasterWe all agree that the refs definitely fucked us. 100%.
But did you see how our team responded to those calls? Absolutely flat. As soon as that 4th down call was reversed the balloon was deflated and the game was lost. From that point our team played absolutely horribly. I was 100% sure our defense was going to allow them to march down the field and score 8 points before the clock ran out. It seems our defense felt that too. When good teams get fucked by the refs they get angry and take it out on the other team. We wilted.
