soupParticipantGoats:
West Penn Power – our neighborhood electric went out in Q3 and didn’t come back on until game was over.
Kindred – terrible angle on the Hill TD.
Gameball:
Kessler – 9 for 11 set up the TD run with a ridiculous throw on the injury play.
Hogan – 104 yards rushing. Forget the ints. Practice squad QB with no reps ot he r than wildcat.
Hue Jackson – coached his ass off. If Kessler doesn’t get injured we win.
Erving – first game he didn’t go backwards in until he went out with the sickness.
Overall, more injuries. No shock. Fate has us at 0-16. 6 QBS in 7 weeks. No team can do a thing about that.

Trust me, you electric company deserves a gameball….they suck….I mean this is poor football all the way around.

ParticipantOh bah deserves a gameball. 2 sacks on the day, and you know they weren’t coverage sacks because there was no coverage.
Erving, he still had a holding penalty. I know it’s a bit mundane and run of the hill. No where near the inventive penalties he’s come up with in past games, but it’s a staple penalty for an offensive lineman, and everybody has to go back to the fundamentals from time to time.
But really, Cincy tried giving us this game with at least 2 free first downs, and we couldn’t even make it close. Not anybody’s fault when Hogan is forced into action, but this is bad.
On the bright side, if the Browns got their card punched every time, Cleveland Clinic should treat Kessler free of charge!

How do you qualify Hue Jackson as a top tier coach?
Isn’t he like 8-14 lifetime?Because he took a garbage Oakland team to 8-8. As for this year – he’s making the right decisions on and off the field. MAYBE you can question 1 to 2 plays a game. Now look at past regimes when you can easily question their entire gameplan and calls from start to finish of every game including clock managment. With Hue – you can’t.
I’m going to assume you think Mike McCarthy of GB is a good coach.
In 2013 Green Bay finished the year 8-7-1.
Aaron Rdogers was 6-2.
Tolzien/Flynn combined for 2-4-1 record. That’s with an ESTABLISHED team.Put McCarthy with 6 QBs in 7 games on a team with 31 guys that have 2 or less years of experience and tell me what the results will be….
Don’t forget to throw in that your #1 pick had a major breakout game then broke a hand in practice.
Don’t forget that he’s used 3 centers in those first 7 games. Erving, Grecco, Reiter, back to Grecco, back to Erving now back to Grecco.
Hell, this year he’s only 3-3 with Aaron Rodgers and there’s an ESPN headline with McCarthy blaming the 2011 CBA for all the injuries.

You have to look at his actions and what he has to work with. You have to look at his calls. He didn’t injury Murray and have no choice but to sign a kicker a day before a game whose only practice was 10 minutes before the game in a position that’s all based off timing. He didn’t cause a ref to throw a flag on Pryor for throwing the ball back to an offiial who was askin for it. He didn’t give the ball to the Redskin after Duke Johnson clearly recovered a fumble.
He didn’t ask to be utilizing his 2nd rookie QB of the year – a 5th round pick signed a couple weeks ago off the Chiefs practice squad – to play starting QB.
To think he’s anything but a top tier coaching talent is insane.
Pettine was garbage before he was signed
Chud – stupid to fire considering the staff he assembled – that’s on Haslam’s idiocy.
Shurmur was garbage before he was signedHue is the real deal. Deal with it because as long as Haslam isn’t an idiot – welcome to an ACTUAL – FIRST TIME building of a franchise THE RIGHT WAY.

soupParticipantBack to game balls – you’ll laugh – but Boddy-Calhoun deserves one. He blanketed AJ Green in coverage.
YES, I’m aware AJ Green had 168 yards recieving:
48 on a hail mary that’s not “coverage” related to Calhoun (looking at replays he either wasn’t on the field or was covering the trailor).
So he had 120 against a UDFA – 40 of that was on a sensational – uncoverable 40 yard 1 handed grab. The announcers even commented on how Calhoun had perfect coverage on the play.
Goats:
Once agaion – the worst player on defense – Jamar Taylor getting absolutely toasted on a TD catch.

RG3
McCown
Kessler
Whitehurst
Pryor
Hogan7 games into a season. What’s ridiculous is you wanting to fire everyone and get a new front office and high school coach to tear apart this roster to install their new guys because you want to go 4-12.

ParticipantDon’t get caught up on the QBs. Offensive lineman, TE, WRs, they’ve all had a ridiculous amount of injuries and the offense still hasn’t been THAT terible.
Hue literally has been moving everybody around all season, and their all in their first year in Hue’s offense, except maybe Pryor if you want to get technical.
The defense, I’m actually excited about it. The guys they drafted have shown they can play for the most part, they just couldn’t address DB cuz they didn’t have 30 picks. But, I’m confident they’ll be able to address that in the next draft and we’ll be seeing a lot of improvement in a short amount of time.
Make no mistake, we’re headed in the right direction. Just gotta get through this season first.

the dudeParticipant7 games into a season. What’s ridiculous is you wanting to fire everyone and get a new front office and high school coach to tear apart this roster to install their new guys because you want to go 4-12.
Soup, we went over this a million times now. You cannot put words in my mouth just because you say things in your head. I have posted consistently because for the pure reason I know how moronic you can be by using “All” and “Everyone”. I have stated over and over, if we are 0-16 I want to fire Hue Jackson – I have never said this before.
Also, you have multiple years of wanting to fire the coach in the preseason let alone after their first lost of the season. So lets be clear on this one.
Next, you cherry picked 1 coach 1 year – you did not include his super bowl year which Hue Jackson has never even been close to. Its not a good idea to pick someone who had a sub par year once and compare it with a 2 second year NFL head coach who has a poor record.
I agree with you that the Browns have had a lot of injuries – that is not my fault as a fan – my perception is we continue not to win games. We are disorganized on the field. So many players on this team suck.
With your logic, Mangini’s first year of head coaching I felt he coached players up beyond their average ability to play. I believe in his following year, he lost control of the locker room which is too bad. Do you think anyone will want to come to play at Cleveland after they are the locking stock of the NFL?
I recommend you tread wisely when making accusations – You have since year 1 of this franchise demanded every head coach fired – and just because you found 1 that for some reason you like – he has not won 1 game yet – as another fellow dawg posted, he threw the ball 45 times last sunday and ran 17. We don’t expect these guys to win more than 1 game this year – but we didn’t stick to any game plan – we couldn’t make any adjustments at halftime because these guys are not being coached.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
October 25, 2016 at 7:20 pm #6345
soupParticipantMy point went right over your head. A SUPER BOWL WINMING COACH SUCKED USING 3 QBS IN A SEASON. Now imagine if he used 6.
If you fire Hue that creates a domino effect which gets rid of Hues staff. That means next year we have a new scheme which renders half the current draft useless which means you redraft the same positions. Which is exactly what we’ve been doing.
It is widely known that when Jimmy The Hick fired Chud for no reason that Norv Turner tore him a new asshole for not keeping his word to Chud about getting time to build a winner and the fact that 3:QBS had to be used in a season.
If this idiot fires Hue, one of the most respected coaches in football, the franchise is over. We will get another high school coach because no one else will take interviews after a guy using 6 QBS in a season gets canned for not winning.
Sorry I said you’d fire everyone. You’d fire Hue which would cause the entire staff to get fired. You’d keep the front office while rendering the current draft class useless.
31 guys with less than 2 years don’t need to be learning their 2nd and 3rd schemes in the NFL.
Use your head for once.

The moment Butch Davis said “Holcomb is our starter” after Couch got us to the playoffs I wanted him fired. He also forced Foge Fazio to lay off Maddox in half 2;of the playoff game causing us to lose. Then fired Fazio. Butch went back to college after his failure.
Phil Savage – he didn’t believe in t he draft and spent his time trading away all our picks.
Holmgren – I wanted him fired the day he was hired as president. I warned everyone that he sucked in that role and brought up his dual role in Seattle. Loved him as a coach, but sucked in the FO. He has since stated he should’ve been our coach.
Shurmer – seriously? You question this?
Pettine – again, you question this?
Banner – told you all he was known as Satan in league circles. He brought on Lombardi – if you question on why I wanted him fired before he was hired then please watch a new sport. Even his buddy Belichick canned him again.
So where did I go wrong?

So where did I go wrong?its funny how you cherry pick…..you were all about pettine a season ago….what about rac? what about chud?
I am not saying you are wrong for wanting those coaches fired, but I cannot predict what will happen to hue if he gets fired….he could just be another one on soups list.
No where I have said once that I think Hue should be fired….I have stated over and over again, if the team goes 0-16 the head coach should be removed. has nothing to do with me liking hue.

soupParticipantI was NEVER EVER EVER about Pettine. I said we had no choice but to keep them for 5 years no matter the record. Not because I liked that worthless bum, but so 5 years from now we could land a real coach by proving that we’d give the hire time. Even if we went winless for the next 3 years. The f ax the we landed Hue is a miracle.
Chud? I praised the hell out of him. My dream since the 90s was to get Turner as our OC and love Horton as a DC. Firing him was a stupid mistake of epic proportions. We had an amazing seasoned staff.
