ParticipantThat was my initial assumption, but Schefter has reported that he has NOT failed or missed any tests.

the dudeParticipantOf course the browns are going to be on hard knocks and maybe they are taking the spotlight off of him. Every reporter wants the comeback players story etc.
I personally think he did fail a drug test whether it is being reported or not.
If he did, I don’t want him to be on the roster anymore. It has been a circus since day one. But this should do it… Dont care the talent level.

soupParticipantAn educated guess would be he’s skipping the hell that is Hard Knocks. Goodell forced us to make sure we limp into game #1 against his favorite team.

IceKeymasterThis is a bad sign.

the dudeParticipantI mean if he failed another test I think it is just time to end the saga. Someone else wants to try to help this man, then so be it. But you can’t keep asking fans to root for someone who clearly believes he is above the rules while the people by tickets and nfl packages have to follow the rules at their jobs.

IceKeymasterHe’s been moved from the non-football injury list to the did-not-report list.
Also the GM mentioned interest in Dez Bryant.
Dark tidings my friends.

ShooterModeratorI think it’s a great move to be honest. It’s a pre-emptive strike for Gordon and a way for him to keep himself in check and not fall onto old habits. It’s been discussed openly and often by Gordon that anxiety has been a part of his life going as far back as high school, and that his way of dealing with it was through drugs and alcohol. With Hard Knocks coming in here and shoving cameras up everyone’s ass all through training camp, Gordon proactively seeking to take a timeout and work with his counselors to get through this before he starts ripping J’s or pounding bottles of vodka is a fantastic approach. I applaud him for it, and I applaud the browns for supporting him during it.
It has been stressed, repeatedly, that Gordon has not failed any tests and that he is completely in the good graces of the league. For me, if Gordon is smart enough to acknowledge and see that he needs a little bit of extra help and asks for it, instead of destroying himself and his career, man I’m all for it. The guy has been training and working his ASS OFF all offseason, and is in stupifying, freakish shape so missing a week or two of camp isn’t going to be that big of a deal at all. I’d sure rather have that than the alternative.
I’m pulling for Gordon more and more because I honestly feel that the guy is doing everything he possibly can to fight his demons. I support that and wish him the very best.

ParticipantI’m hoping he didn’t fail any tests. If he comes back then great it will be great for the Browns but if not then I still wish him the best and the Browns should still assist him with getting any help he feels that he needs.
Personally, I am happy the team hasn’t turned their back on him regardless of how it turns out. It shows loyalty to him on a personal level. Of course you could also say it’s an act of desperation.July 27, 2018 at 9:14 am #12735
GABrownsFanParticipantAgree, Shooter. Ounce of prevention….
I’m not worried about this. I’m encouraged that he decided to seek some help before falling into his old ways. If it keeps him out a week or two of camp, so be it.
July 27, 2018 at 11:26 am #12736
IceKeymasterI’m not worried either. After all, when has he ever let us down before?
Missing mandatory training camp and being put on the NFI list is very serious, especially for a guy in a contract year with his history.
I’m not saying he’s off the wagon because we don’t know any details. Whatever it is, it is serious though.

GABrownsFanParticipantHe has. No denying it. But I’d much rather have him doing this than risking his recovery.
