ParticipantHASLAM LANDS HUE JACKSON
According to sources inside ESPN, the Browns are on the verge of signing Hue Jackson as their next head coach. Details are fuzzy, but Jackson was most recently the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals and is a former head coach of the Oakland Raiders. More details when they are available.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!

I’m stunned. I have to say, this gives me some hope and justifies some real optimism.
I honestly can’t believe they did it.

Where’d you see that everything I have read is that he is fine with S.Brown having control of the 53 man roster……..?

ParticipantWhat absolutely surprises me is that other teams wanted him, but the Browns are the team that signed him. I just hope that the Browns don’t feel obligated to spend the 2nd overall pick on a QB whose talent doesn’t justify the selection just because of the team’s dire need at the position.

While it might not be the popular pick, there’s now a lot of merit to picking Laquon Treadwell #2 overall, should our talent evaluators deem him worthy. Jackson loves taking chances downfield, and you’ll never succeed at doing so without a true #1 WR who can fight for the deep ball.
And basically, I agree with Bill, this is not an ideal year to pick a QB high. I’d take a flier in the mid-rounds, but that’s about it. Too many needs, especially with a new staff and new systems, to reach for a guy in the first three rounds.

Coaches can’t play the game for you – so in theory we still suck.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
January 14, 2016 at 8:47 am #3812the dude
ParticipantI am indifferent on this hire. As with every coach besides Pat Shurmur, I will hold my judgment until we start with player personal and we draft.
Every coach has just passed on the torch of the last coach – keeping the losing tradition and the same crap that we have.
I hope some people on here are going to be welcome to some change if that is what the really are trying to get. This will mean that some players will just be outright released. The thing is that so many of us get attached to players and the reality of the matter is we talk ourselves into saying they are good. These guys are not good at all. Most of them are pretty much trash besides a couple standout players.
I think this is a step in the right direction, but again I will hold my judgment and not whore myself out on this decision.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

ParticipantIn all fairness, we were all recovering from years of abuse by Johnny Manziel and none of us were in the best mindset.
I was about to say “at least we didn’t take my advice and draft Laquan Treadwell (who?), but then I realized we drafted Corey Coleman instead so ?♂️

ParticipantHue’s gone and in all fairness coaches like draft picks are hard to predict the final outcome, so much goes into it at least with players you got an eye test watching them play coaches that’s different so many great assit coaches and cooridinators have been over whelmed by being the guy. This time i’ll trust Dorsey to make his pick and hope for the best.
