How can anyone have any confidence in Jackson?

The only potential “faith” I see is that our QB play was beyond abysmal. the worst in the NFL overall in the past 7 years. You have to go back to another shit ND product in Jimmy Clausen to find worse. My solace is simple: Deshaun Watson.

    Houston Texans record – 4-12

Deshaun Watson 3-3. Their 3 losses? Solely on the defese. The lowest point total by the offense was 33 points in those losses.

With Watson at QB they averaged 34.6 PPG on offense.

Without Watson starting 10 games? 12.9 PPG

That is asinine. Yes, in one of Watson’s games they scored 57 and in another 13 (his first start). If you throw out the high and the low to balance it – you still get 34.5 PPG with Watson as QB in the other 4 games (just combatting the 57 points in one game argument).

Watson made a 22 PPG difference in their offense. TWithout him startin they went 1-9. They played vs Blaine Gabbert in that game.

As for last years miracle win – you can’t call it that. Miami won vs us solely because the kicker’s first appearance to practice was warm ups before the game. He went 3-6 in FGs that day. So if you are going to discount the Chargers win – you have to discount the Miami loss.

All that said – I’d rather Hue be gone because it would get rid of the horribleness of Gregg Williams. And yes, 1-31, that too.

Rumor is Hue will be hiring an OC. I’ll keep my fingers crossed on that. Ya’ll know how much I loathe playcalling head coaches.

To answer your initial question, I don’t know how anybody could have ANY confidence in Hue.

I liked the hire initially, and I liked keeping him after last year’s 1-15 debacle. But, he needs to go now.

    My main problems:

1.) While he does know how to coach a good offense, he’s shown he can only coach his offense his way, and he refuses to change that to match the team he has. This is evident by his throwing 2447 passes/game with a rookie QB and crap WRs. I want a guy that adjusts his game plan according to his teams strengths/weaknesses.

2.) He’s a liar. Plain and simple. He wanted Goff last year. Halfway through this year, all of sudden he says he wanted Wentz. He was lockstep with Sashi Brown (his words, lock-step). Then all of sudden, he says he wanted Watson and was overruled. Then there’s the AJ McCarron fiasco. This goes beyound coachspeak. He’s just full of shit.

3.) He’s literally thrown his GM, his DC, all of his players in general, and at least his rookie QB and his RB, specifcally, under the bus. He likes to say “we own this, we’re not running from this,” but he blames everybody else and actually does run from it. Can’t stand that.

Soup stay on task this has nothing to do with man love for Watson. This discussion is about weak bodied hue.

Dawg e Dawg nailed it…. Forgot about the McCarron bs and the flip flop on qbs.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

Get a QB it Chang’s everything. That’s the point. he’s an easy example due to the difference with and without him for Houston.

Soup for years and years and years on dawgbones, you preached that the qb is the last piece of the puzzle and should not be wasted with the first pick. for years you preached that a running back is the most important piece and needs to run the ball 30 times a game.

    why the change of heart?

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

We should be running 30-35 times a game. A lot easier to do when the QB isn’t turning it over 28 times.

So in other words, hue should be canned because he forces a qb to throw the ball based on his poor play calling.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.
