I really don’t know where to start, because we don’t have much to build on here.
How should the team be fixed during the bye week? (Check as many answers as you want)
- Fire Pettine (9%, 1 Votes)

You should have included the outright release of some players. I don’t think there is much that can be done to fix this team at this point of the season. Firing all of these managers isn’t going to improve anything. To be honest, even though I voted to fire em all, I think the best thing is to let the season finish out and can em all at seasons end.
In perspective since Jimmy cares more about money than his product:
1) firing these managers will not produce anymore more wins or even increase our chance of winning
2) firing these managers will not sell tickets any differently. The season is junk and no one is going to go to games in December besides the die hard idiots who still think Johnny will be a winnder
3) firing these idiots mid season is not going to look attractive to any potential coaching or gm candidates…..not that we look attractive anyways, but at least it will look like ownership sticks to their investment and lets it play out.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

He’s just plain awful and there’s no getting around it. Give Gilbert reps. Keep Desir out there too.
Start Duke Johnson at RB. Nothing irks me more than how a specific series went down yesterday. On 1st and 2nd down on one series Duke Johnson went up the gut for 14 yards total on those 2 carries. The next play was an idiotic end around for a 7 yard loss. No need at all for that. Should’ve run up the gut again and got it going.
Change the run blocking scheme. Clearly it doesn’t work. So change it.
Play balls to the wall. From our own 40 on – 4th down and under 10? GO FOR IT. What do you have to lose? Play aggressive.
As terrible as the team is – show confidence in them. I’m the first to say if I took over the team I’d immediately cut Manziel. He sucks beyond suck. That said – when it was 14-3 and we had a goal line stand, I would NOT have run a stupid QB sneak on 1st down and wussed out. 2 minutes left in the half. A 2-7 record and down by 11. Manziel the QB – I throw the damn ball and be aggressive on all 3 downs. It’s not like we are vying for playoffs. It’s not like we had an 11 point lead.
Looking purely long term. I do NOT fire Pettine or Farmer. I keep them until their contracts run out. (If I was a respected owner – unlike Haslam- I’d fire both Pettine and Farmer – but our hands are currently tied)
Freedom!!!

They need to understand how important it is to run crisp routes. They need to be able to actually play NFL WR – not school yard football. Not have the #3 run a sloppy route knowing full well he’ll never even be looked at by Manziel. So to improve means playing the vet because Manziel can’t anticipate throws which in turn will make our WR sloppy.

I don’t mind getting rid of farmer, but the rest should stick around. Johnny sucks. So does McCown. Doesn’t matter, both shouldn’t be on this team next year anyways.

November 17, 2015 at 11:49 am #2765IceKeymasterHere’s what you can’t do: fire anyone on the staff. You fire Pettine, for what? Who is the head coach then? This staff is completely devoid of head coaching experience and there’s no one worthy of moving up. Same with GM. Those changes, if we’re going to make them, have to come after the season is over.
The trade deadline has passed, so basically who we got is who we got. So how do we dig ourselves out of this hole?
Manziel is already the new starting QB, even though McCown played well. Fine. That should not be the only youngster we start over a vet. Erving should replace Greco or Schwartz. Schwartz is terrible. Erving was terrible last week. Let’s switch old terrible for new terrible, because there’s a chance Erving will get better. Same goes at RB. Minimize Crowell’s touches and keep getting Duke more involved. Same goes with Gaines.
What I’m saying is that we go with a total youth movement. I know some of them aren’t ready, and some of them aren’t very good. I don’t care. We’ve been losing with the vets, we can lose with our youngsters and at least get them a little experience.
