soupParticipantThe more you say the more you reveal how little you understand. “Ricky” didn’t tell the opposition our schemes. It told Erving which way to block because that’s where the pressure was coming from funny how the word “right” begins with an “R” and so does “Ricky” isn’t it?
To think they speak in some code out there that confuses the defense is laughable. Millen was an excellent line player, of course he can grasp that stuff immediately.

Who needs lessons? These things aren’t secrets. And yes, as a PLAYER I respect Matt Millen. It’s foolish not to.
What did McCown give away by stating where the pressure is coming from? Should he also quit telling the line where the Mike LB is as well because then the D will know? Seriously, start thinking before you speak

As a football player, Matt Millen was a 4 time Super Bowl Champion, Pro-Bowler, and 2 time All-Pro in a 13-year career. As broadcaster, Millen worked his way up to being #2 at Fox behind John Madden.
He’s immensely respectable in both realms, and has a track record of excellence that warrants said respect.
Possibly the worst executive that ever stepped foot into an office. But truth be told you have to fault Detroit more for that though than Millen, because when you pluck a former road grading meathead out of the broadcast booth with zero prior experience in any capacity at running a football team and you hand him the keys to the castle by granting him power over everything just because you like the way he called a game on TV, well, that’s what happens.
When Matt Millen is on the air talking about offensive line coverages, breaking down line play, and offering his takes on what he sees, I’m listening to every word he says. If I’m smart and am really really into football and broadcasting, I’m taking notes.
If he’s telling me how to run a football team….. I’m smoking a joint and laughing with a “good story Matt” at literally everything that comes out of his mouth.
I don’t recall him talking about how the Browns should be run. I heard him talking about line play.
Something tells me that you’re going to completely miss this point though, as has been proven, you are want to do.

ParticipantMcCown is not hard to figure out. When he’s clean, he’s a pros pro. He can make the throws you need, he can find the open guy, and he can move the f’in chains. And I don’t want to here that bull crap that any an is good with time, because it’s just not true.
The problem is McCown shits himself whenever he’s pressured. He fumbles and throws picks and every other bad outcome possible because he doesn’t ha e a good feel for pressure, and that’s something that just can’t be taught.
He gifts 7 points to the other team almost every single start. But, the problem is I wouldn’t expect a rookie like Hogan to do much better under pressure, and with this o line there will be pressure. And I don’t think he’d play as well as McCown when he’s clean. So yes, McCown does give us the best chance to win. It’s just still not a very good chance.
Now, when RGIII comes back, it’s sit down McCown and let’s see if Bob can do anything. Though, I don’t have high hopes for that either.

the dudeParticipantShooter, you missed the point. The point is pretty simple. It a tv announcers knows where the play is going before the play starts because of a bad qb trying to assign blocking schemes, the play has no chance at success.
Lol 2nd behind John Madden.
He called the Browns Giants game on Sunday. I am sure that is what you would call a great play by play man. LOL LOL LOL

Yeah you’re right man, it’s totally fucking crazy that a 13-year NFL veteran and 4 time super bowl champion lineman and professional color analyst could in any way be able to point out what is going on with the line. You’re right. Totally right. I have no idea what I was thinking.
He called the Browns Giants game on Sunday. I am sure that is what you would call a great play by play man. LOL LOL LOL
Well for starters, he’s an analyst, not a play by play man. They are two different jobs. Very, very different jobs. Analyst. As in, “to analyze”. And yes, he is very good at it.

ShooterModeratorI suppose when Troy Aikman calls out what the QB’s are doing during a game, it’s because the players suck so bad right? I mean, if Aikman is able to call it out from the booth, it must be terrible football then huh? Wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that he’s a HOF fucking QB would it? Nah, nah it wouldn’t, you know what you’re talking about alright.

ShooterModeratorYou got this point.
Now this……………is the point where I’d buy you a fucking beer, and we’d have a good laugh.
I’m not trying to beat ya down bro, I’m not. I’m serious. And man, I completely understand the frustration. I do. We all do. Even fucking Soup does in his own weird print-his-own-money kinda way. I get it.
But ya just can’t go getting all willy nilly and making shit up just to prove a narrative. It’s poor arguing. Was Millen calling what they were doing from the booth? Yeahhhhhhh. Yeah he was. But the dude knows what the fuck he’s talking about. And that’s his job.
Horrible executive. Ran the Lions into the ground. Jesus didn’t he draft like 4 WR’s in 4 straight drafts and they all bombed? Wasn’t that the way of it with Millen? It might have been even worse, I dunno. The point is, Christ, horrible suit. Just, abysmal.
In the booth as a former player with a microphone who’s been there and done that though…………I mean, ya just can’t find too many people who thrive as well as he does. The man’s got stripes Dude.
Bernie could pick apart Belichecks defense from the booth if you gave him a mic. Does it mean Belicheck is a shitty coach, or does it mean that even though Bernie spends like, 80% of his time getting hammered at the Rocksino, he’s still a sick smart QB?
I mean, Bernie got booted from the air in preseason because he called out Rams players.
And he was RIGHT!!!
Bernie, got fired, for being right.
Mat Millen was right in his call. Because he knows his shit. That’s all I’m sayin.
