Yes, we heard the videos after he got drafted and how he is going to give 100% on the field etc etc.
But look at the video – like when Goodell announces his name, like normally, most people would just smile a little bit. He is probably thinking I am fucked.
Video of Coleman getting drafted
Also, just a little detail on Corey’s home life – His dad has been in and out of jail his entire life for drugs. Mom has raised him with several other brothers and sisters. They were dirt poor. This has to be the greatest day of his life. Not one smile.
Anyone else already thinking to themselves that we will be talking about another bad pick who is in trouble 2 years down the line?

In all of my years watching sports, I’ve never heard that before.
May 2, 2016 at 5:24 am #5141MavParticipantIt’s a little over blown. By all accounts he’s excited. Why shouldn’t he be? He’s the number 1 receiver right now.
May 2, 2016 at 8:23 am #5142the dudeParticipantWe all react differently, but I thought it was worth talking about. Also, Soup, don’t pretend you know him or have any idea of what is going on in his head. Hearing his name should have resulted in tears of joy…..not a look of a stoned athlete who just got drafted by the worst team in history.

Cleveland.
Drew Brees. Tom Brady. Ben Roethlisberger. Aaron Rodgers.
RG3/ some rookie.
Should he be excited? If you were a WR is this the place and situation you’d be hoping for? Personally I don’t care if he wants to come here or not, it’s in both of our best interests for him to be the best WR he can be. This guy’s attitude is actually a positive in my book. He carries a very large chip on his shoulder and according to all accounts he uses it to motivate himself.
Also at least he didn’t walk across the stage making money signs.

You gave the background on him – with all the classes I’ve sat in on fostering and all the things I’ve seen while doing it – I have a better gauge on what his potential reasoning is then you do.

Didn’t you just tell me not to do what you just did?

May 3, 2016 at 12:48 pm #5176Dawg E. DawgParticipantYou know who’s CLEARLY excited to be here? Scooby Wright III. Anybody else see the videos of him?
Broke down crying, that jumped in a pool fully clothed, then yelled to all his buddies, “Where are we going?” “DAWG POUND”, and barking.
That reaction, coupled with his name, and he’s already my favorite draft pick. Hope he makes the team.

What are you blabbering about? Being a foster parent has nothing to do with anything. Quit being retarded. You have never lived in the hood. Because you go to some class that tells you how people are does not mean that is how people are.
You do not know me. Quit thinking you do. Quit thinking you know Coleman.

There are many things that impress me about him. I am pointing out something that should make us and the Baylor Browns a little nervous.

You do not know me. Quit thinking you do. Quit thinking you know Coleman.I know a hell of a lot more than you do about his situation. I see it quite often with what I do. I see the chip on a shoulder it creates. It’s also simple psychology. He had to be the man of the house early on and that carries through in life. Again you go blabbering about what you do not know AND claimed that he should’ve cried tears of joy in that moment. So YOU shut the fuck up and quit acting like you know him – because you don’t. I have way more insight to this than you will ever have.

May 13, 2016 at 8:05 pm #5245IceKeymasterI find any psychoanalysis done by non-psychologists who have never met the subject ridiculous. Let’s not all pretend we’ve got doctorates based on our life experience, or that we have any idea what he’s thinking because we watched a youtube video.

But Soup has an adopted son so he now is an expert on poor children growing up in the hood.
Similar scenario, when Tree told us about his great years of QB’ing his street football team and how he could outplay Derek Anderson.
I guess I am the moron.

May 18, 2016 at 10:37 am #5269IceKeymaster@Soup, just want to say that I really respect your decision to adopt after fostering. We joke around a lot here but for me that’s up there with fighting on the front lines in the US military. If all I knew about you was that you adopted a foster child I’d have mad respect for you.
Unfortunately I know more about you than that. But adopting almost makes up for the rest of it….

However, Soup someday needs to realize that he isn’t an expert on everything. I grew up in the hood – I still live pretty close to the hood. I am not an expert on poor culture, but I have been exposed much more to this than he has.

What I stated is simple – he didn’t get to have a childhood – he had to be man of the house fast. His look was one of determination – and what’s followed from anything I’ve read in this off-season is he’s working his ass off. Doesn’t sound like a guy to me who’s miserable where he went to.
