Per Mary Kay Cabot, Manziel has been in rehab since Wednesday. We don’t know at this point if it’s for alcohol or anything else.
IMO it’s a start. He still has a LONG way to go to be a viable NFL QB, including a wholesale change in attitude and work ethic. But this is one positive move he’s taken.

But this is one positive move he’s taken.…probably the most important move of his young life. Yeah, he has a long way to go to be an NFL QB, but admitting you’re wrong and taking responsibility for it goes a long way towards becoming a man.
And hopefully, this makes him a better player. I wish him well, and hope he learns to grow up.

Its a great step for him as a person, but I’d say a small step as a player.
February 9, 2015 at 8:04 pm #650IceKeymasterUnfortunately I agree with @durakbane. Fixing the alcoholism doesn’t fix the work ethic, or the entitlement, or the crappy play on the field.
February 10, 2015 at 12:03 pm #656soupParticipantPersonally, I think this is a rouse on his part. He doesn’t believe he needs help. He never bottomed out. I think this is him trying to fix his image. I give it a week out from rehab before he’s caught with drinks in his hand at a bar.

February 10, 2015 at 3:01 pm #664IceKeymasterReal or not, it doesn’t really matter to the Browns. Alcohol didn’t affect his play on the field, his lack of preparation did. Even if he stops drinking he still might go out every night instead of studying.
February 11, 2015 at 11:02 am #671the dudeParticipantSo supportive Soup….maybe, just maybe, try once to be positive.
I hope his poor play and practice ethics will be resolved from this and he will start taking things seriously!
Hue Jackson is a loser.
February 11, 2015 at 12:12 pm #684soupParticipantNo reason to be supportive. He’s proved to be a liar. Every time he flaps his yap he comes out doing the opposite. His actions afterwards will be what matters. I can’t imagine him following through.
