On his Thomahawk podcast last week, Joe Thomas was talking about the Mavs owner getting fined for admitting to tanking. He then talked about the Browns and basically said that part of Sashi’s plan was to get high draft picks, and that meant losing. He also said Sashi had to make sure that the coach couldn’t win because it would screw up the plan, and Hue wanted to win badly. JT said it wasn’t tanking because the players and the coach all did their best to win.
That really sucks, but it makes a lot of things clearer. It was a real life “Major League” but instead of the owner wanting to move the team, it was the GM wanting to get high draft picks. Getting rid of Haden right before the season was one of those moves. Sashi purposefully left the DB room in terrible shape without a free safety on the roster.
