We still have the most cap space in the league, and Worford is a 3-time pro bowler. I know we have a lot of money in the line, but tell me this doesn’t make sense.
Curious to see what people who are more into the X’/s and O’s of line play think. I did see that Worford is one of the slowest guards in the NFL, and my understanding is the scheme Stefanksi runs needs quicker guards, so maybe not a good fit???

But would he be better than the winner of Forbes v. Teller?

In a word “no”. Round peg square hole issue from the jump.

While it’s true that the RT spot is vastly improved, whoever wins the RG spot will still have to do his job. All five starting O-linemen have to know the scheme and learn how they can work best together. The fact remains that we’re still dealing with two question marks along the O-line. Now, by all appearances, it seems that the LT spot was resolved on the first night of the draft because Wills is the most technically sound OT in that draft; but he’s still a rookie and will need to get up to speed on the NFL game. Do I think he’ll do it? Yes, but nothing is a given.
Which leaves us with the RG position where Teller, Forbes and (yes) Hubbard to compete for that starting spot. If Berry wants to bring in more competition, I’m pretty sure that he’ll do it. I’m just not sure where that competition will come from at this point. Sure, I could propose a trade; but I don’t have a crystal ball and I don’t read tea leaves. You want stuff like that, then send a message to Joe (Stradamus) Thomas; who still thinks that the Browns probably should sign Jadeveon Clowney with some of their cap space. BTW . . . I wouldn’t necessarily be against such a move myself – if the price is right.
One last thing . . . the name of the player of subject is Larry Warford. Just thought you might like to know.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
May 12, 2020 at 12:32 am #19019BrownsFan4LifeParticipantI realize that the RG is still going to have to do his job. I also happen to realize that when you have a great player next to you, it will give you confidence because you don’t have to worry about the guy next to you doing his job.
The Browns have filled a lot of holes this year and RG, while weak is mainly an unknown right now. We can use an upgrade but the overall talent on the OL is stronger this year, the blocking scheme will be different and the playcalling should be better.
