Traded to the Rams for:
2 first round picks
3rd round pick
Jared GoffThat is insane! The Rams front office is high.
Deshaun Watson is going to garner 4 1st round picks at minimum

January 31, 2021 at 4:57 am #20583GABrownsFanParticipantI know a lot of Rams fans. I’ll be interested to see how they react to this.
After that massive trade up in 2016 to get Goff, now they’re sending two firsts and a third to get rid of him and get Stafford.
Wild. Assuming they don’t acquire another first rounder via trade, they’ll go 7 years without a first rounder.
January 31, 2021 at 5:02 am #20584GABrownsFanParticipantMaybe Berry should call Snead and offer Sendejo for their 2025 first rounder.
January 31, 2021 at 11:52 am #20586IceKeymasterThe trade is lopsided because of the disgusting contract that comes with Goff. It’s very much like when we took that QB from the Texans and they sent us a 2nd rounder with him and we gave them nothing. Rams needed to be out from under that contract if they wanted to get anything done.

Except they will be without a 1st round pick from 2017-2023. That trade was idiotic. Plus I believe Dorsey is now a top talent guy at Detroit. Look for them to get a mass infusion of talent and turn around real fast

January 31, 2021 at 3:37 pm #20589IceKeymasterI’m not saying the trade was smart, history will tell. I can say I’d much rather have Stafford on my team than Goff. Is the difference worth 2 first rounders? Got me.

I will never understand the Stafford worship people have. Stafford is a poor mans Philip Rivers

January 31, 2021 at 5:38 pm #20591DawgSoldierParticipantit will be interesting to see what stafford can do behind a run game and a defense things he has really never had in 12 years in detroit

January 31, 2021 at 8:07 pm #20594GABrownsFanParticipantStuafford will give that offense a bump up. I just don’t think all the offensive problems in LA were strictly due to Goff. Steep price to pay, especially if Stafford doesn’t turn out to be a major upgrade or can’t stay healthy. I hope Goff does really well next year (except against us).

That 2nd round pick turned into Chubb, which is an awesome use of taking on a contract.
Also notable; Osweiler was cut because he lost a training camp battle to Kizer. Ouch.

Saying someone is a better QB than Goff counts as worship now?

Damn good question Ice.
BTW soup is Arians wrong?Plenty of opposing coaches have raved about Matthew Stafford over the years, but Tampa Bay’s Bruce Arians went above and beyond with his praise for the Lions quarterback during a Tuesday conference call. “He’s one of my all-time favorite guys,” Arians said. “He’s tough as nails.Dec 22, 2020

February 1, 2021 at 10:41 pm #20625BrownsFan4LifeParticipantThe only way this trade could be deemed as a success is a Rams Super Bowl victory. Anything less will make the trade stupid.
