Apparently coaching and rest of staff supportive. States he is having mental problems.

December 20, 2018 at 9:53 am #14891DawgstyleParticipantNFL.com now states he’s facing suspension. Can’t believe we got a 5th rounder for this guy. I wanted to see him succeed, even after he left Cleveland, but a leopard never changes his spots.
818 mph. 13,723 feet. 3 second burn.

But yeah, Gordon loves to let teams down right when they need him the most. I’ve predicted the end of his career already and was wrong so I’m not gonna do it again now but he has to be running out of chances.

I don’t know for sure if we do still get the pick. There were some real weird terms in the move. Lots of discussion on OBR that if he didn’t play in enough games or if he violated his probation etc.
On a side note I guess his gf posted a snap chat rant about him cheating on her etc etc.
Glad we got rid of this piece of shit. If he didn’t have any athletic talent, the majority of people here would be complaining about paying his welfare.

December 20, 2018 at 12:05 pm #14897ShooterModeratorI don’t see anyone confirming a “banishment” or anyone confirming he’s violated anything. All the same people said the same thing when he missed time in training camp and it all turned out to be bullshit.
Look, I’m not going to bag on the guy at all. He’s doing whatever he can to stay ahead of some serious issues, and just like last time, I applaud his efforts. It could be worse, he could jump face first into a pile of coke and weed and booze, but he’s not. Good for him.
It hurts his football career no doubt, but as far as his life goes it’s a great decision, and a brave one at that.
I wish him well.
December 20, 2018 at 12:35 pm #14899Dawg E. DawgParticipantWhat I found in a quick google search is that the Browns got a 5th for Gordon, no strings attached.
Originally, it was reported that they would have to give the Patriots a 7th back if Gordon wasn’t active for at least 10 games this season, but in the final deal, the condition was removed and the Browns had to give a 7th to New England regardless.
So, Gordon’s current status should have to impact on the Browns trade.

Well, as far as I see I started it and I only have one person knowingly blocked.
As for @shooter, I’m not bagging on him. I’m glad he’s at a recognition point where he knows when it’s time to get out.
That doesn’t change the fact that Dorsey recognized it and our team is better for it

It’s official; he’s back on indefinite suspension. He’s out minimum 1 year.

December 20, 2018 at 4:24 pm #14913MDP Sack AttackParticipantGordon clearly has serious mental health issues and probably should have never gone back to football after his first suspension. Not to say anything of this isn’t entirely his fault (it is), but he should have recognized the environment he was putting himself in as not being healthy for someone with his issues.
Truly hope dude can find some peace in whatever he does going forward, although I worry he’ll be in serious trouble or prison sooner than later.

Guy had a 100k job and I forget what he said but some triggered him and he ended losing his job becoming depressed. For 6 months he was on every medication that 3 different doctors put him on. Bankrupted himself. Wanted to kill himself daily. Dude started smoking weed. He says he still has a mental condition but things are much more controllable. He started his own business and has expanded. Also he has helped several people in his family with cbd oil who also suffered from mental illness.
My point is don’t always judge a book by his cover. Marijuana is only illegal because big brother was paid off in the 20’s and filtered it down through a bunch of idiots who claim it destroys the youth.
I would bet 80% of the nfl players take it some way shape or form.

December 21, 2018 at 12:12 pm #14916IceKeymasterFootball is so low on his list of priorities, I’m not sure anyone actually thought this wouldn’t happen again.
Ricky Williams chose weed over the NFL, and after the money he made in the NFL I say go for it. It seems like Gordon is trying to choose both the NFL and weed, and those two just don’t mix. You’ve gotta pick one or the other. Eventually he’ll choose the one that’s more important to him. I doubt it’ll be the NFL. He’ll probably announce his retirement.
December 21, 2018 at 12:15 pm #14917IceKeymasterAlso to @dude’s point it is currently much worse to get caught smoking weed 4 times in the NFL than to beat up a woman once. And covering up a murder only gets you a $250k fine and a nice job in the media after your career. You don’t even miss a game.
December 21, 2018 at 2:51 pm #14921Dawg E. DawgParticipantOne thing to think about, we don’t know what drug Gordon got popped for. He SAYS weed, but we don’t know because that info is confidential. It’s always been assumed weed, but he’s also said he’s taken a lot of different drugs over the years.
Remember a few years ago, every player that failed a drug test was “using adderal”. Well, that’s just what everybody claimed because the test results were confidential.
However, they separated out the drug test, and adderal is in the PED category while weed is in the substance abuse category. Since an NFL player can’t blame a failed substance abuse test on adderal, they go to weed. But, we don’t have more than their word to say that’s what they were actually taking.
December 21, 2018 at 3:35 pm #14922the dudeParticipantExcellent point Dawg. I didn’t even think about it that way.

December 21, 2018 at 3:55 pm #14923IceKeymasterYeah it could be crack weed.
December 21, 2018 at 10:59 pm #14926mike barnesParticipantWho really cares Gordon is done and Dorsey got rid of him for an extra draft pick maybe Dorsey will strike gold with it or use it to target a player he wants in an earlier round either way we won this one.
