Our first overall pick should be a QB.

Assuming there’s a QB worthy of the pick, we need better. No one currently on the roster has been good enough to give us the luxury of getting the best available player with our inevitable 1st overall pick, instead we’ll be locked in at QB. Agree?

Disagree… No point of drafting a qb when you have no one to throw too…

Even when any of our qbs has looked ok ok the squad, guys dropped ball after ball. We should trade it back for 2 first rounders 2 seconds and, 3 rd.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

I agree, but due to schedule strength SF will have the 1st pick, not us.

    EDIT:

It flipped. We are now in line for #1. Guessing it’s due to the suck of Cincy and Baltimore.

I agree as well. We can’t get the other pieces without a qb, because as we’ve seen nobody believes in a team without a qb, and if they dont believe, good players will leave when their contract is up and FAs won’t want to sign here unless we overpay. We need a qb.

Oh there will be, but the Browns have no chance of taking that guy. They’ll just pass on him.

Fuck it, draft the best WR coming out and sign Kirk Cousins.

I want us to have something we never have had… A real wide receiver.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

Preferably one without a New York essence.

If Sashi Brown is still in charge we won’t pick a QB or sign Cousins. He’ll stay with what we have and hope the new coach can work a miracle

The other issue we’ll have is the same one we have this year: Who is mentoring a young QB?

Kizer is faltering I believe in part due to the fact that there is no veteran in the room to tell him what is going on. Again, a role Josh McCown should be filling but was stupidly let go.

I haven’t seen a QB come into the league in quite some time that didn’t have a solid, reliable veteran QB to tutor him. It’s devastating to not have that dynamic and Kizer shitting the bed is proof it’s true.

    Shooter….

    Mentoring/coaching/practicing with

Those all qualify for things that the browns don’t do with qbs.

Stated in this thread it should be QB. As for your Wentz comment:

    Blake Bottles is awesome
    Ryan Mallett is awesome
    Deshine Kizer is awesome

    Jared Goff sucks
Deshaun Watson’s arm is too weak and he sucks.

    Any questions?

    Any questions?

A few. What does everything you wrote prior to that mean? I don’t get it.

How Does Wentz look to you now? Because aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall last year it was a barrage of how awful he was, and how when he did do something good it was just smoke and mirrors. Do you still have that same opinion now? He looks pretty damn good this year (I thought at times last year he looked pretty damn good too). Don’t you think he’d look good in a Browns uniform?

In a Browns uni? No, I don’t. Last year it was a steady diet of WR screens a big chunk of the year. With all the down field throws we force I think he’d be done.

While he has looked good overall this year, he still has a lot of Derek Anderson in him. Start slow, end strong. Monday was a prime example. 2 for 7 1 int start. 15 for 18 4 TD finish. He was on that 60% cusp going into last week. Meaning just over. True tests are coming to see what he’s made of. Lost his stellar LT and a G.

Overall coaching has been smart with him. Much like this year Goff coach has been smart

Edit: in case on ignore you don’t see his quite, I was responding to DawgSoldier who stated I’d be happy if we traded down this draft because I hated Wentz last year.

We would have found a way to fuck Wentz up had we picked him. Just like we’ll find a way to fuck up whatever QB we take in the 5th round next season…assuming Sashi and Paul are still around.

You know, I get the idea of trading down to aquire more picks, but those picks really haven’t panned out in the least. I mean really, out of the last two seasons, the only player to truly stand out is Garrett, a player that didn’t involve a trade to acquire. Nobody else has done shit. When you trade that #2 pick, you had better be damn sure you hit on at least one of those picks. To be fair though, it may be more on the scouts for not seeing what they need to see, and not so much on the front office.

I just don’t get it. Hue was unanimously praised as a hire last year, and even when we ended up 1-15, it was supposed to bolster our team to a better place. We were supposed to be improving. Instead, our offense looks like a girl’s softball team up against world class athletes. What gets me is that we keep trying the exact same shit every week…you know, the same shit that didn’t work last week.

Oh, and we lost Joe Thomas for the year, possibly forever, and did it while doing our best to lose another game. That guy deserves to win…and is likely the only one on the offense who does deserve it (maybe one or two other linemen). Part of me is glad he isn’t going to be around for the rest of this farce of a season. He deserves way more than this team has ever given his efforts.

I’m all for continuity, but I didn’t mean “keep losing”. If they were to go clean slate, my feelings wouldn’t be hurt. I’m just at the point of not giving a shit until they can figure out how to win at football. And I have no idea what that’s gonna take.

Didn’t soup at one time say the qb is the least important piece to the offense and can be found late in the draft…..

Not sure why everything is so different now….

    Hue Jackson is a loser.
