Penalties are by far the biggest issue with this team. This is one of the big reasons Stefanski should never call a play again (that and he sucks at it). He’s so busy playing OC that he flat out ignores penalties. Talk is cheap, he’s clearly not trying to rectify it. (we were the 8th most penalized team in 2020 with 100 penalties)

    2021:

#2 in the NFL with 80 penalties
#1 in the NFL with 726 penalty yards (no one else has broke 700 yards)

Some are BS, but the pre-snap illegal shit and illegal formation penalties…there’s no excuse for it in year 2 and at this point in the season.

Supposed to say “illegal shift”. Autocorrect jumped the gun on that one. Would’ve been right 99 times out of a hundred, though.

Wills pops into my head as a guy who has had a ton of penalties especially last year. We have had injuries on the line so maybe a little bit of the penalties come from that but I think most of them this year have been illegal shifts or the WR’s not covering the tackles. It’s stupid shit. I’ve also seen multiple times where Baker has to get a WR lined up in the correct spot. We shouldn’t be snapping the ball with 2 seconds left on the clock on every single down.

On defense I actually don’t mind the occasional offsides or neutral zone infraction. Our guys are trying to jump at the snap as fast as they can to get that sack. If they are getting to the QB because of how fast they are on the snap, they’re gonna get called now and then. As long as Garrett has more sacks than offsides it’s a net positive.
