Time to make your predictions! Talked Ice into offering a completely free 1 year membership to BrownsFootballFalk.com to the poster with the closest prediction, so good luck!
I’ll start it off:
First, Browns take Garret. They go with the “sure thing” and surprise people with their predictability.
Secondly, Shooter has to go through 3 revisions before he settles on a dig for Soup that’s short enough to fit and yet still sufficiently humiliating.
Third, Browns pick Mahomes at 12. I prefer Trubisky, but based on the way they drafted last year, I think the brain trust is going to prefer Mahomes big stats, and his experience edge over Trubisky. As Hue’s admitted preference for Jared Goff shows, he’s not concerned about the Air Raid.
Fourth, Browns trade up into the mid 20’s to get OJ Howard. This is more of a pipe dream, but if Howard slips, moving up and getting him before the Steelers would be brilliant.

I made no promises on brevity. If it’s 8 paragraphs long, he has to live with that, not me.
It will indeed be sufficiently humiliating lol.
April 23, 2017 at 6:09 pm #8415ShooterModeratorAs for predictions, I just have no idea. It’s so hard to say what Sashi and Co. are thinking or what direction they’re going. I have no idea what they are prioritizing.
They are taking Garret at 1. That’s a no-brianer and it’s not even among debate. After that though………..honestly, who knows?
The prudent move would be to go QB. But they might think that all these guys are crap and just go defense again. They might trade up. They might trade down. They might take a QB, and then sell off some assets and move back into the 1st to make a 3rd 1st round pick.
Outside of drafting Garret at 1, I can’t even offer a guess.

John Lynch and Warren Sapp were teammates.
John Lynch is the GM of the 49ers. They pick 2nd.
Teams try anything, lol.

Of course, Florio assumes it’s the Browns doing something stupid, but I’d say your 49ers angle makes more sense.

I read that idiotic article. What a load of shit.

It’s just so out of character for Florio to suggest the Browns are doing something dumb. /end sarcasm.
April 24, 2017 at 2:56 pm #8421DawgPoundDudeParticipantYou know, whoever wins this sig bet (my money’s on Shooter), I think the other person should grace us with what would have been the chosen sig…for hilarity sake.
April 25, 2017 at 4:36 pm #8441BillWunkleParticipant(A)Garrett @ #1. No QB’s go off the board in the top ten and the Browns get Trubisky at 12.
(B) Garrett at #1. No QB’s go off the board in the top ten and the Browns get Hassan Reddick at 12, then DeShone Kizer at 33.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
April 25, 2017 at 8:39 pm #8442ShooterModeratorthen DeShone Kizer at 33.
If the Browns draft Deshone Kizer I’m going to go full-blown Soup and demand everyone in the organization be fired immediately.
If he’s still there in the 7th, fine, teams waste 7th round picks all the time on reaches. If they draft him in the 1st or 2nd I’m going to go to rehab, quit the internet, and buy a Carolina Panthers jersey (in no particular order but rehab probably coming last).

Normally, I wouldn’t wanted a guy with his tape in the 3rd even, but I think Kelley did more harm than good, and Kizer could be a lot better than he was in college with a little development.
That said, if we don’t have a QB going into the third round, I’d probably follow shooter, though I’d buy an Arizona jersey instead of panthers.
April 25, 2017 at 10:54 pm #8445ShooterModeratorI think Kelley did more harm than good
I begrudgingly agree with that.
I’d still be pissed about the 3rd though. Soooooo much talent in this draft, and there’s much more available in the 3rd than Kizer.
April 26, 2017 at 12:38 pm #8448IceKeymasterSomeone had to post that, right?
I predict our day 1 starting QB is already on the roster.
I predict that Soup will fire our entire team within the first hour of the draft opening tomorrow.
Finally, I predict that Wunkle will NAIL the Brown’s draft again.April 26, 2017 at 10:45 pm #8451ShooterModeratorLast minute change of opinion/prediction offering:
I think that after drafting Garret at 1, the Browns are going to be as aggressive as possible, and when I say aggressive I’m talking “empty the chamber” aggressive, and get Trubisky.
I think that philosophy is going to come down to one main point in the draft: the 49ers.
If they take anyone other than Trubisky at 2, the Browns are going to pounce. The Jets the Bears and the Bills are all QB needy teams, (yes, as are the 49ers), and if he slips past 2, I don’t think the Browns are going to fuck around, they’re going to unload that stockpile of picks, leapfrog them all, and go grab their guy.
They’re not gonna pass on Garret, they just can’t, but they aren’t going to walk away from this 1st round without Mitch either.
April 27, 2017 at 8:27 am #8454soupParticipant1. The Browns will select Jonathan Allen #1 in the draft, not Myles Garrett.
2. Based purely off analytics, the Browns have zero interest in Trubitsky and will not draft him. Based on analytics and the fact he only started 13 games he is an NFL bust in waiting.

This is going to be the best year ever.
April 27, 2017 at 1:06 pm #8468soupParticipantThese are predictions. Not what I hop happens. Though I don’t want Trubitsky.
Think about it though. We are going in the forefront with analytics. Take emotion out of it. Looking purely at analytics Trubitsky is an NFL bust in waiting. Using pure logic based off like players before him, all signs point to failure. He doesn’t have a strong enough data sampling to be a safe pick.
As for Garrett, all the talk of him being amazing leads me to believe we won’t pull the trigger. Put that with analytics and current roster and Allen actually”makes more sense.” Allen paired with Shelton in the middle when we utilized 2nd and 3rd round picks on DE last year in Nassib and Ogbah.
I’m basing my predictions solely on the analytics side of things.
