Preseason game 2 against the Bills was a battle of juggernauts; two teams whose offenses are competing to be the league’s worst. Josh McCown reverted to his Tampa form tossing 2 picks and only tallying 57 yards in an entire half of football. Our vaunted offensive line looked terrible against the Bills and QB’s were on the run all night long. I want to thank Rex Ryan for throwing a bunch of different looks at us, because unlike last game it exposed just how bad our offense is. WR’s weren’t getting open, McCown held on to the ball way too long, linemen were allowing unblocked defenders to chase the QB, and the running game was anemic. Terrance West got the start at RB but did not take advantage of the opportunity to grab the starting job. He danced left and right but failed to move the ball forward much.

So that’s the bad news, but what’s the good news? Manziel looked better than last game. He had some bad throws but made better decisions with the ball. Even without our first 10 CB’s (that’s only a slight exaggeration) the defense was still fairly stout. The only runner who hurt us was QB Tyrod Taylor. If we can’t learn to contain a mobile QB better it’s going to be a long season. Andy Lee looks to be a big upgrade at punter and is certainly worth the 2017 7th rounder we gave up for him. Special teams overall looked much improved.

I still cant believe the 49ers traded Andy Lee. I love that guy. He changes field position. Top punter in the league. About stopping the run. Scott Solomon, or aka, blood bath, is just that. He is all hustle, but he is clueless as to stopping the run. Hes bad. Like really bad. I never in my life thought I would say this, but we need Mingo back. BADLY.

I like Solomon. I would rather watch a guy with average talent that gives 110% on every play than a guy with loads of talent who only plays hard when he wants to. Solomon is not the solution to any of our defensive problems but neither is Mingo. Mingo is still built like Todd Pinkston and at best is a roleplayer on defense.

Ice I like the effort. But he is completely oblivious to the run. I mean, like horrendously bad. And its bad enough that kruger too is suspect against the run, but kruger is a bonafide sack man. Solomon isn’t that. I don’t know that Orchard would be any better against the run. Mingo is at least serviceable against the run, and good against the pass.

I don’t like our OLBS at all, and the more I see them play the more rage I feel towards the Browns for passing on KHALIL MACK.

remember that guy that I was pounding the table for?

If you believe that all of last year’s issues are gonna be solved in one off season…well, you ooze optimism the same way Razor Ramon oozes machismo.

Yeah, we got pretty exposed in that game. I’m with you though Ice, thanks to Ryan we now know the weaknesses (well, more weaknesses) of this offense. We have a lot to clean up.

It isn’t happening this year folks. I’d save that $200 you’ve been holding for a jersey until 2017 or so…
