My thoughts exactly, this staff is coming along nicely. If these are the kinds of people that Dorsey and Kitchens can get all I can say is wow. Now another good FA period and a good Draft by Dorsey then playoffs.

Wilks defense has a great year when he was DC and Monken put up insane numbers. My only Monken fear is his lack of running, I’m guessing Freddie straightens that out. On the cover these are excellent hires

They also had crap at running back in TB. You have to factor that in just a bit Soup.

Talked to a couple big time Bucs fans I know. They said they really liked the play calling, the big problem was the QB.

Excellent point. I still like the hire either way. They put up points under him

Early prediction – soup wants then fired after preseason game 1.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

That’s a gimme. A harder choice would be to predict how many times Soup flip-flops on him during the preseason.

I dunno. I am guessing Wilks will be the 1st to called out to fire. As he runs a zone coverage scheme and the Browns have man to man corners. The last thing Ward needs is more involved in run support as a zone corner.

So does that equate to 8 in the box with a single high safety but zone coverage instead of man?

I read another thing on him, he ran more zone than anyone in the NFL, however didn’t lead in any one specific zone coverage because he constantly mixes it up

The preseason soup meltdowns count the same as nfl preseason games…. Let start a fantasy pool where we can bet on which quarter soup has his meltdowns. We can settle meltdown by which coordinator gets the first goat.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

It has always been about halfway through the 1st quarter in every game this year.

You talked about being a kicker away. We were a DC away.

Raiders – 8 point lead blown with a minute left

Saints lead blown late and a GW FG drive in less than a minute

    Tampa same types of scenario

Baltimore game 2- 296 yards rushing

#30 D in the NFL is gone. That was our weakness

Hey Ice can you quote me and remind soup that defensive coordinators don’t kick field goals.

Guys, seriosuly look at what The Browns did versus what the Cards are doing. They hired an up and coming coordinator with a lot of nfl experience, and he’s well respected around the league. He brings on an experienced DC and OC, which will help him greatly being a first time HC.

Arizona hired a guy that couldn’t win in college with Baker Mayfield, Davis Webb, and Patrick Mahomes. Not only that, but he ran off Mayfield for Mahomes. Mahomes may be better, but you don’t do that to a star QB. His offenses at Texas Texh were great, but his defenses were terrible. Like, worst in the nation.

To top that off, he’s announced he’s not gonna have an OC. He’ll handle those responsibilities. A first time HC with no NFL coaching experience, and he thinks he doesn’t need an OC.

I say all this to show how Dorsey has the Browns doing things right. Arizona is doing stuff the Browns did before Dorsey. The Browns are doing it the right way. One year from now, we’ll be waking up and looking forward to a Browns game. It’s happening.

So you are saying AZ is committing a lot of “Cardinal” sins football wise. Got it. 😀
