I saw that we also added a fourth rounder from Detroit in 2022.

They made a couple more picks than I thought they would, but this was a fantastic draft. Two defenders who could be day-one starters, a wide receiver who could be a sneaky weapon with plays designed for him, and then a bunch of solid dice rolls in dudes with question marks. Love it.

    R1: Greg Newsome II CB
    Round hole, meet round peg.

    R2: J. Owusu-Koramoah LB
Best Pick: Day 1 talent on day 2. Steal of the Browns draft class. Also ends the idea of the Browns don’t value LB’s.

    R3: Anthony Schwartz WR
Speed merchant WR who is likely now the fastest guy in the NFL.

    R4: James Hudson OT
Pick that made go WTF, was this guy : Not because of my valuation of him per say. It’s that both Bobby Brown III and Shuan Wade were on the board at that pick. And IMO would contribute a lot more than a backup offencive lineman who likely won’t see the field at all.

    R4: Tommy Togiai DT
Stout but slightly undersized DT for the NFL. Stout but slightly undersized DT for the NFL. I had Bobby Brown the III ranked higher. But in AB I trust

    R5: Tony Fields II LB
Worst pick:. I don’t get it, there where better players on the board IMO and LB wasn’t a need. Shaun Wade would been a MUCH better pick IMO. I was yelling at my TV at this one.

    R5: Richard LeCounte S
Flyer on an accident injured day 1/day 2 talent at free safety.

    R6: Demetric Felton RB
3rd down back and likely return man that also can play slot reciever. AKA swiss army knife

    Day 1 A. Day 2 A+ Day 3 B+ Overall I’d give it an A

The Browns definitely made more picks than I thought they would. Some of the lower picks had me scratching my head.

I absolutely hated the trade down with Detroit. I don’t think we received enough.

LeCounte could be a really sneaky, good pick. Excellent college player, good high school recruit, fell because of a bad pro day. He doesn’t look slow on game film at all. That’s a good risk.

Fields is the same mold as Owusu-Koramoah, but even smaller. He plays fast, apparently tackles well against players larger than him, and fits the scheme. Maybe he can even play some safety in our 4-2-5 scheme. Worth rolling the dice.

Togiai is another undersized dude who plays larger on film. We need line help, and he probably has more upside if he can outplay his physical limitations.

Hudson I don’t get at all.

I would have rather had Wade myself but I do understand drafting an Offensive Tackle because we do need depth and with a lot of contracts coming up in the next year or two, we won’t be able to keep the entire line.

The days of spending money without worrying about the salary cap are over. This is the price of being a good team.

I can’t wait until preseason when everyone starts guessing who will make the team and who won’t. My guess is a few of our draft choices won’t make the team and at least one UDFA will.
