What you need to take note of is the fact that aside from maybe a screaming virgin in a horror movie that runs UP the stairs, you have the most knee-jerk, over-reactionary, mindlessly nonsensical responses to things.

I’ve learned to ignore the consistent negativity of some people. It isn’t worth the time nor effort.
Williams has our defense playing well. Even when they make mistakes, they bounce back. He switches things up to give teams different looks. You can’t continually give the same looks or you’ll get burned.
The D still has issues as far as missing gap assignments and poor tackling at times but they usually create turnovers and play hard regardless of what happened on the previous play.
We have cut down on pre and post snap penalties and that’s a good sign.
Trying to catch teams off guard by the element of surprise with your best and most athletic players…..

So Soup hates zone dog blitz, fire zone blitz,…. basically any zone blitz. Got it. The only blitzing Williams is allowed is to just run a DB/LB up to the LOS and send him at a tackle hoping he will get through.
I’ve never heard you say the Steelers defense is stupid and they live and breath on zone blitzing.
Typical Soup. A play works 20 times and Soup ignores it. It doesn’t work once and that play (and all others like it) are BANNED and the coach should be FIRED. But not FIRE ZONED because those are BANNED.
Well you know how it is…it’s all about extremes. There is no such thing as middle ground for Soup. If our defense got shredded by Joe Montana, doing the same that he did with every other defense in the league, Williams should be fired. Or if we couldn’t stop Barry Sanders from getting 100+ all-purpose yards, it’s completely inexcusable. Or if Schobert misses a tackle, it’s 100% on the coach.
Not because of how good or bad a player is.
