Later Benji, good luck in your next stop. We can lose without you.

I know some of you guys think this is a huge loss, but I don’t. He has less than 1700 yards in his career. We had him as our primary receiver but I think he’s a better fit as a 3rd WR. He has ridiculous burning speed but he’s not a guy that demands a double team by the defense. He definitely developed well this season and may progress to be that guy, especially with a gunslinger like Rivers throwing the rock, but it’s not going to happen for him here. This is one of those times where the split up is better for both parties.

He’ll be missed, but you definitely have it right…out of all of our free agents, this is the one I expected to leave. Still, sucks to see him go.

    Ah well.

Kind of a bummer, but I don’t feel that big a deal.

All due respect, but this is the line of thinking that destroys this team. There’s no logic in saying “well he was our #1 but out of place and should be a #3.”

The guy had 966 receiving yards and 5 TDs with a 95 year old man, a drunk on a swan and Austin Davis as his QB’s. The next closest WR on the team had 523 yards receiving. He damn near doubled his production. But it’s okay he’s gone? 2013 Josh Gordon was the last guy to top Benji’s production at WR.

    He had more yardage than:

    Michael Crabtree
    James Jones
    Michael Floyd
    Randall Cobb
    Marvin Jones
    Golden Tate
    Alshon Jeffrey

Among many other guys this board would say is better than he is. Not to mention his PR ability. Guys with 25+ returns – he was #2 in the NFL with an 11.6 average. Sproles was #1 at 11.7.

Now imagine that we actually got the front office correct. (I know – I’m way into fantasy land here) and we get a legitimate #1 and #2 WR on the team. Who’s going to cover Benji at #3 in the NFL? He could be in a perfect Wes Welker role where he belongs. Now what happened? We need to replace Benji AND get a legit #1 and #2.

You all immediately need to smack yourselves in the face like the little bitches that you are and get some sense and look at how teams build.

Remember – the moronic idiots thought it was okay to let Sheard walk. All he did was rack up 8 more sacks in New England where the idiots here got 2 out of him and only started him in 5 games (reduced the role of our best LBer).

Benji is only 26 years old.

From what I understand, we tried to resign Benji – so this isn’t on the front office. This is aimed towards the fans who seem to not get how to build a team either.

Yeah, but we’ve got NEW moronic idiots now.

One thing I didn’t see mentioned anywhere in that rambling response @soup was money. He got $6m/year and $13m guaranteed. Clearly the Chargers were willing to overpay and we were not.

Seriously? We have the 2nd most cap room in the NFL. It’s not our money. We kept the cap room to resign our own. Brock Osweiler was overpaid. $72 million for 170 NFL passes.

He had an awesome year with shitty qb’s. the rest of his career revolved around injury and lack of ability to get on the field.

i hope he does well 🙂

    Hue Jackson is a loser.
