The local news interviewed an orthopedic surgeon, and (while they didn’t have first hand knowledge of Mayfield’s injury or access to his records) they said the combination of injuries is extremely dangerous, and every time his shoulder pops back out of the socket before it’s completely healed there’s a strong chance it can cause permanent damage by chipping at the bone, and that could be career shortening.

So basically, the Browns have some serious thinking to do. Making a Superbowl run this year, but potentially sacrificing long term success to get it.

    OR…….

The Browns haven’t reupped Mayfield. And his play to this point hasn’t warrented it evidently as there has been no pen to papper.

I think the distance between Keen opperating the offence and Mayfield opperating the offence isn’t as great as some think.

Maybe AB should consider moving on if as mayfield is what the 3rd bext QB in the AFC North… Man did Dorsey passing on Josh Allen and trading for OBJ hurt this franchise. More and more IMO it is becoming apparent that Mayfield is just a guy not thee guy.

I am already looking at Pitt Qb Kenny Pickett, Cinnci QB Desmond Ridder and Nevada QB Carson Strong.

I can’t recall one pass that went over 15 yards in the air. Let’s not crown Keenum after 1 game against a bad team.

Keenum’s 5.7 ypa, compared to Bakers 8.5 ypa.

That’s the difference between Derek Carr and Davis Mills currently.

Keenum was ok, but it was clear he’s no Baker. And keenum is one of the best backup QBs in the league. There’s no argument that if he plays well it somehow takes away from Baker. That’s just ludicrous.
