DT Grady Jarrett who is likely to get franchised. If that happens DT Malcom Brown.

Name someone you want the team to break the bank over. I’ll go first.
Get me Matt Bryant. “Money Matt” just got released by the Falcons because they don’t have the money to pay an awesome kicker, we do. Yes he’s old. Last year the dude missed one single FG, and it was over 50 yards. He is automatic. As I’ve said before, if he was on our team last year we’d have been in the playoffs. Give him what he wants.

oddly enough kickers are on my mind.

I want maybe another offensive lineman….Don’t know if I need an upgrade or just some depth.

Also, mix feelings on our linebackers. Would love to see just draft a linebacker from a lineback school….penn state, alabama, usc……you know where I am going.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

If I remove all my personal feelings and go off a strictly football business move……….with all of our cap money………..I pay Le’veon Bell whatever he wants and add him to Nick Chubb in our backfield and we’re in the AFC Championship next year. We could draft no one and sign no one else this offseason and we’d still be division favorites. If we add an O-lineman and a WR in the draft, forget it.

After watching Conner this year, Bell is overrated. He’s not worth it. He’s also a joint away from long term suspension. He’s dumb as hell and he took off a year and is completely out of shape. He doesn’t care about football and he’s a premadonna. Also, he wouldn’t make it to the playoffs. Like clockwork he’s always injured then

I just don’t see where he helps the team much. He’s talented, but we already have Duke and Chubb. There’s only one football.

I don’t see the value in paying a crapload of money for marginal improvement, at best.

Conversely, I don’t see any names out there that I’d be willing to throw big money at. All over the board, there’s just not much in free agency this year. Marginal talent is gonna cash in big time.

What does everybody think about Anthony Barr? Jamie Collins is on the way out, so we could easily move his money to Barr.

Honestly, I don’t know much about him, but know that he’s a 4-3 backer and has made the pro bowl in like 4 out of 5 season. Thoughts??

I’d take Mosley over Barr, but with the caveat that we don’t try to make Mosley into a pass rusher. He’s a dominant middle-fielder. You want a pass rusher, how about Dee Ford. 13 sacks last season, and he was originally drafted by Dorsey.

I brought up Barr because he’s played his career in a 4-3 defense, whereas Mosley and Dee Ford both come from 3-4 defenses, and I don’t know how well they would be in a 4-3.

I don’t mean that as a negative, I mean it verbatim. I just don’t know. Ford, I though played OLB and those guys usually ply DE in a 4-3. Mosley might be a fit? I really don’t know. Barr I just know would be a fit in some way.

As you can tell, my knowledge of linebacker responsibilities for a 3-4 vs. a 4-3 is somewhat lacking. But, if I look at the free agency pool, I think linebacker is about the only major hole we have that we could fill with an above average starter. Other positions just don’t have much value available.

Here’s what my board would look like if I was Dorsey. My goal would be to sign one from each position group and double up on DT if I could.

    Trenton Brown LT 26 NE
    Malcom Brown DT 25 NE
    Danny Shelton DT 26 NE
    Henry Anderson DT 28 NYJ
    Sheldon Richardson DT 28 MIN
    Johnathan Hankins DT 27 OAK
Dante Fowler Jr. DE 25 LAR
    Trey Flowers DE 26 NE
    Denzel Perryman ILB 25 LAC
    Jordan Hicks ILB 27 PHI
    C.J. Mosley ILB 27 BAL
    Anthony Barr OLB 27 MIN
    Shaquil Barrett OLB 26 DEN
Bryce Callahan CB 27 CHI –
Bradley Roby CB 27 DEN –
    Bashaud Breeland CB 27 GB
    Jason Myers K 28 NYJ

Interesting list. Trent Brown scares me because A.) Tom Brady gets the ball out quick, so brown has one of the easiest LT jobs in the nfl, and B.) the AFC east doesn’t have premier pass rushers, making Browns job easier, and c.) Nate Solder just showed last year how NE LTs can be overrated.

The DTs I would take one. The DEs, Fowler looks like fools gold to me. He’s not reliable nor consistent when he’s on the field.

At LB, ibteresting that you have 3 ILB over Barr, and 2 over Mosley. Do you think those players are better, or do you view ILB as a bigger need? I brought up Barr because to me, OLB is a bigger need because we have Schobert to play MLB. I’m not confident in Avery taking over full time for Collins, and even if I were, I’d like more depth at the position.

At corner, it’s all tit for tat to me. I think we end up no better off and no worse off considering we’ll lose the Gaines but likely add similar talent.

Brown and RObinson battle it out at LT loser upgrades RT MASSIVELY.

As for your other point. I comes before O and they are organized by age youngest to oldest.

As why I have ILB’s I think since Schobert is so good in coverage, moving him to OLB would play better to his strengths. Schobert was in the top 5 in missed tackles along with the recently cut collins according to PFF. So getting someone inside he makes tackles is a good idea IMO.
