To get a true average you toss out the high and the low (40 and 3)
I just want to point out that this is soup-tistical bullshit. 40% of your results are not ‘tossed’. When you have 5 data points you don’t throw out 2 just because they are on either end of the spectrum. The Browns average 18.4 points per game.

Never said any of that. But, if you’re going to compare their offense to the rest of the league, it’s important to consider the level of defenses they’ve faced. This is particularly important when you’re trying to make conclusions based on a very small sample size, which is what you’re trying to do.
And I have no fucking clue what Baltimore, Cincy, and Pittsburgh have to do with any of this. We haven’t played 2 of them, and the one time we played Baltimore, we curb stomped them in Maryland. You want to extrapolate shit? Freddie Kitchens is undefeated in the division as a head coach. Believe it.
Soup, the way you come up with your numbers falls somewhere in between scientific proof of how the Earth is flat and the Salem-era lake version of determining if a woman was a witch. A woman accused of being a witch was bound heavily and thrown into a lake. If they drowned they were not a witch, and if they flew out of the lake by using their magic, they were.
