DawgstyleParticipantI think everyone but Pryor and Williams will be back, with Erving being a potential cut after the preseason.
Jackson isn’t going anywhere. If we got rid of him now, we’d never have a legitimate chance at landing a top tier coaching prospect as long as Haslam owns the team and everyone knows that.
RG3 was hurt for a large part of the 2016 season and there’s no reason not to bring him back for the 2017 season. While we don’t know what we have in RG3, that’s what we have in RG3; a player that will never live up to his potential.
Pryor is a prima donna with character concerns that the front office would gladly bring back, but I don’t think he’s coming back to Cleveland. His choice to test free agency means that he’s looking at the 2016 season as his ticket out of Cleveland. Too bad he’s such a head case, I loved the fire he played with when he wasn’t busy self destructing.
Joe Thomas is Cleveland. We don’t trade him. We don’t release him. This guy is keeping that locker room together and he will retire a Cleveland Brown.
Cameron Erving has one thing going for him: He’s young and it’s possible he could improve. Until the team can bring in another young guy that can beat him out for the job, I suspect he will remain on the roster (but I wouldn’t be surprised if we draft a Center in the middle rounds of the 2017 draft either). Could I see him getting cut after training camp? Absolutely, but I could also see him moving to guard. I don’t think he’s a starter, but his <gag> “versatility” could keep him on the roster as we rebuild the team.
Haden will have surgery again this offseason. He will again be injured much of 2017, but play well enough to warrant a roster spot because he is still effective when healthy.
I would be shocked if Tabor wasn’t with the Browns next year. Given the trade of Andy Lee and emergence of Britton Colquitt, in addition to the salvage job he did with Cody Parkey after his disasterous start, and I don’t think there is any doubt that we want Tabor back.
Tramon Williams is set to earn 7.5 million this season. He is also taking reps away from younger players. He is 2017’s Paul Kruger. Nothing wrong with the guy (he’s obviously past his prime), but his cost and age are working against him. A Browns fan living in Green Bay, I’ve watched Tramon play a lot of his career, and I believe this chapter is coming to an end.

soupParticipantPryor won’t be back. Rosenhaus is his agent. Browns want to extend Pryor and Rosenhaus killed talks until after the season. No easy he’s a Brown next year. Rosenhaus won’t allow it.

ShooterModeratorWait wait wait.
53 man roster, and you list only 8 options to pick from? 2 of which are coaches?
I’m going to need a much larger understanding of your thought process on this one before I can formulate an answer.
Are we only limited to these guys? This feels very “Thomas Edison said he didn’t fail, he just learned 1,000 ways to not invent the lightbulb”-y to me.
