IceKeymasterNow it totally depends on which QB the Rams take at 1.

DawgstyleParticipantYou’re absolutely right Ice. This is huge. It feels like 2012 all over again. Here’s to hoping we get the QB we want instead of the RB we’ll settle for…

DawgstyleParticipantTake this with a grain of salt, but…
2. The pick is already (reportedly) in: According to a report from Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, the pick is going to be Carson Wentz.
Farmer, speaking on the NFL Network, said the Rams have Wentz in “their crosshairs” and “there is a strong likelihood that’s the guy who winds up in L.A.”
LA Times Sam Farmer tweeted:
Rams have traded with Tennessee for the top pick in the draft — Carson Wentz is the presumed target.Obviously, I hope this is true. I’ll be thrilled if we get Goff at #2 or trade down and land Lynch later in the first. I think this is a great QB class and Wentz, Goff and Lynch will all have above average NFL careers.

DawgSoldierParticipantWith all the smoke spin and moves I have read that it is Goff to LA. The Cali golden boy to lead the rebirth of the Rams in LA. The story writes itself almost.
Being I like Wentz better, I of course like this idea.

DawgstyleParticipantIf Wentz is as good as Mike Mayock thinks he is (and I like Mayock), I’ll be happy if he ends up a Brown. I just don’t see it. I didn’t see the domination of opponents at NDSU I would expect from a first round NFL draft prospect at QB. That’s not to say he couldn’t have been dominant, due to his wrist injury, he simply wasn’t.
I get falling in love with measurables, I know he came from a pro style offense, he simply didn’t produce. Wentz had just one 300 yard game in his 7 starts and was just 5-2 on a team that went undefeated without him. His 2014 stats aren’t any better. In 16 starts he failed to throw for over 300 yards in a single game (though he failed to throw for less than 200 yards in half of those games). He did rush for over 100 yards twice. That doesn’t scream “stud” QB prospect in the NFL to me.
All that said, if he’s in Orange and Brown in September I’ll be wishing him nothing but the best and hoping to be proven wrong. He’ll either prove he’s a franchise QB or that his best isn’t good enough (which is my suspicion).

IceKeymasterIt’s so hard to grade Wentz. Really the only thing you can do is watch his fundamentals. Stats mean nothing. He’s got crappy protection, throwing to crappy receivers who are covered by crappy defenses. It takes a real football expert scout to say what this kid is capable of.

DawgSoldierParticipantSynopisis:
NFL.com story during silly season thinks it will be Goff to the Ramsbut then they hedge there bets and say it could be Wentz too.
