Why do I ask this? Dorsey vetted and took the same shot on Hill as he is on this guy. Hill, admitted to the felony of choking his pregnant girlfriend in 2014 while at OK. Hill is now one of the best players in the NFL.
My personal opinion aside (that if Gordon came in the league in stage 86 like Goodell had him in – Hill should’ve come in at a lifetime suspension) in the realm of football and nothing else. A 4th round risk for a guy like this is worth it. Hill worked out. Same guy that vetted Hill – vetted this guy.

From your first quote, that would be simple. Emulate the player on the field. Not off the field. You teach the right from the wrong. If they are your favorite because they are a great player, watch them on the field and leave that as is. That’s the job if a parent. To teach.

There’s no question or debate that Mike Tyson was completely railroaded. He did absolutely nothing wrong and was taken advantage of horribly.
Another point to consider here is what kind of impact it could have on Josh Gordon. For obvious reasons, it could get really ugly really fast. Why bring that kind of toxicity around a guy like Gordon? Why risk that? The Browns could find themselves without both of them after one night, and then you’d have to question how good of an idea it was for Dorsey to bring a person of this type of character in the locker room to begin with.
Is it the browns responsibility to keep Gordon’s head on straight? No, it’s not. It’s Gordon’s. But that said if you had a friend who was an alcoholic, you wouldn’t invite him over to your house and offer him a beer. That’s exactly what Dorsey is doing here, and that’s just fucking stupid.
You guys know I’m a serious doubter of Gordon, but maybe this is a vote of confidence in him. Maybe they feel he’s to the point where he’s strong enough not to just control himself but also to mentor someone else.

You guys crack me up with the way you interpret things. First, he was accused of sexual assault. Nobody ever said rape. Sexual assault covers a LOT of things, many are much less severe than rape. He’s not a rapist.
Second, the woman reportedly had witnesses, and they boycotted the hearing when a Florida booster was assigned to it. Does that sound like they were accusing him of rape? Not to me. Not if they let it go that easily.
If she had witnesses but didn’t go to the cops, that tells me it wasn’t that severe, and they were probably all stoned, drunk, etc.

I just chimes in because sexual assault is one of those buzzwords, like domestic violence, that it’s very easy for an athlete to get mislabeled with, and then it’s impossile to get rid of.
Now, I have 2 daughters and grew up with 2 older sisters. Believe me, if you hit a woman, I WILL be the one to throw the first stone. Your ass is grass. I just don’t jump to conclusions anymore because we live in a very much guilty until proven innocent society today.
The other stuff, obviously he’s not a clean guy. I just don’t have a shit about it in a fourth round WR. All I care is does he possess the minimum amount of intelligence and will power to know how to stay clean and maintain nfl eligibility. That doesn’t look great, but it’s impossoibe I know without talking to him and those around him.

That’s the part that gets me, and I feel lends credence to the other accusations. If you’re a normal guy, no record, never been in trouble, and a girl screams rape, benefit of the doubt should be warranted and allow due process to be played out accordingly.
If you’re an oft arrested drug addict with a record, a thief, and a liar, it’s a lot easier to simply say “yeah I saw that one coming”. Do I know if he’s guilty? No, I don’t. Is it fair that I’m labeling him as such? Probably not. But the reality is where there’s smoke there’s usually fire, and it’s not too hard to imagine a piece of shit doing some piece of shit things.
Even if he didn’t assault her, he probably did some assholish shit to get her mad enough to say he did, which still makes him a piece of shit in my book whether he’s a rapist or not.

Clearly it’s a huge risk. 1st round talent for sure. There are 2 issues for the Browns; how much will he be on the field, and how much of a shadow will he cast on the entire organization? You keep him off social media and away from the press and you solve the latter problem. You’re relying on him to do what it takes to stay on the field.

I tried to find a good definition, but one doesn’t exist. Basically, sexual assault can cover a lot of shit and it depends on what state your in as to what the exact definition is. Since there was no legal charge, I don’t know what the University of Florida’s definition is. But, it can cover anything from nonconsensual fondling to rape.
So, for instance, this guy COULD have been at a party stoned, got too handsy, and she got pissed and tried to get him suspended. Or he could have raped her. We don’t know. Since she didn’t bother going to the police and boycotted the school hearing, I’m inclined to believe it was closer to the former than the latter.
Clearly it’s a huge risk.
