ParticipantWUNKLE’S PICKS FOR WEEK 14
And the mediocrity continues, Browns fans. All I could muster last week was 8-8 to bring my overall record to 97-59 (62.2%). And here’s more breaking news . . . the Browns BLOW and there’s no hope for improvement in the near future. More breaking news . . . if Ray Farmer gets to make the draft picks for the Browns in 2016, he’s going to blow those picks too. And with that, here are Wunkle’s picks for week 14 of the 2015-2016 NFL season.
Minnesota at Arizona: Carson Palmer and company need to keep up the pace if they have any expectations of getting a first round bye in the playoffs – particularly against a good Minnesota Vikings team. Final score: Cardinals 24 – Vikings 20.
Buffalo at Philadelphia: The Iggles come off a Monday night win against an injury riddled Patriot team and are still feeling the hangover from it. Final score: Bills 27 – Eagles 23.
Seattle at Baltimore: Even on the road the Seahawks should manhandle the M*A*S*H unit from Baltimore with relative ease. Final score: Seahawks 31 – Ravens 13.
San Francisco at Cleveland: Johnny Manziel has yet to earn the right to start at QB, but time is running out in the 2015 season. It matters not and the results will be just as painful, even with Blaine Gabbert running the 49ers offense. Prison inmates will beg that this game not be shown on television. Final score: 49ers 20 – Browns 13.
Detroit at St. Louis: The Rams have no legitimate starting QB, but they have a running game and a very good defense. That will be enough to get a “W” at home. Final score: Rams 10 – Lions 7.
Tennessee at NY Jets: The Jets have not been anything to write home about, but the Titans are a young team trying to learn how to win. The home team takes this one. Final score: Jets 24 – Titans 16.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati: The Bengals maintain their stranglehold on the rest of the division in a shootout at home in the jungle. Final score: Bengals 34 – Steelers 30.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville: Blake Bortles has made strides this year, but I think that Matt Hasselbeck will lead his team to a road victory. Final score: Colts 20 – Jaguars 16.
San Diego at Kansas City: The Chargers are almost as bad as the Browns and the Chiefs are a playoff contender. Final score: Chiefs 24 – Chargers 13.
Washington at Chicago: Washington has been good at home this year, but this week they’re on the road in the windy city. Tough one to call. Final score: ‘Da-Bears 24 – Redskins 16.
Atlanta at Carolina: The Falcons are once again proving that they’re playoff pretenders against the top teams of the NFC. Final score: Panthers 31 – Falcons 20.
New Orleans at Tampa Bay: I never know which Saints team is going to show up. Final score: Buccaneers 24 – Saints 20.
Oakland at Denver: Starting QB Brock Osweiler is for real and so is the Denver defense. Final score: Broncos 31 – Raiders 17.
Dallas at Green Bay: The woes of life without Tony Romo come back as the Cowboys misery continue – this time on the road. Final score: Packers 31 – Cowboys 16.
New England at Houston: If the Patriot O-line can protect Tom Brady from JJ Watt, then they’ll somehow come up with a road win. Final score: Patriots 24 – Texans 17.
NY Giants at Miami: If the G-men ever needed a road win, it’s now. Final score: Giants 24 – Dolphins 20.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
