ParticipantWUNKLE’S PICKS: THE REST OF WEEK NINE
Well, I’m not normally the type to say “I told you so”; but I told you so. Last night’s Browns 31-10 loss to the Bengals brought my season predictions record to 64-21. I knew their fate was sealed when head coach Mike Pettine told the sideline reporter that Johnny had to “make some plays from the pocket.” The only times that Johnny made plays was when he got outside the pocket for a clear view of the open field. Here’s how I see the remaining twelve games going down.
Miami at Buffalo: The Fins rebound from their loss in Foxboro. Final score: Dolphins 24 – Bills 17.
Green Bay at Carolina: While the Panthers are a formidable foe, I just don’t see the Aaron Rodgers and the Packers losing two straight. Final score: Packers 31 – Panthers 27.
St. Louis at Minnesota: While the Rams have a resurged running game, I think that the Vikings will make enough plays to come up with a home win. Final score: Vikings 24 – Rams 17.
Washington at New England: Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. Final score: Patriots 42 – Redskins 6.
Tennessee at New Orleans: The Titans are a struggling team right now and Drew Brees is getting his groove back. Saints get a home win. Final score: Saints 31 – Titans 10.
Jacksonville at New York Jets: The Jags fall again on the road in a game that won’t be as close as the final score would indicate. Final score: Jets 24 – Jaguars 13.
Oakland at Pittsburgh: The Steelers are not going to lose a second consecutive game at home. Final score: Steelers 27 – Raiders 24.
Atlanta at San Francisco: Collin Kaepernick heads to the bench as the downward tailspin continues. Final score: Falcons 31 – 49ers 9.
New York Giants at Tampa Bay: The fact of the matter is that the Bucs are still a terrible team. Final score: Giants 27 – Bucs 16.
Denver at Indianapolis: The Colts are a mess and the Broncos are on a roll. Final score: Broncos 42 – Colts 20.
Philadelphia at Dallas: Without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, the Cowboys are a mess on offense. The Eagles will do just enough to get a road win. Final score: Eagles 23 – Cowboys 17.
Chicago at San Diego: In spite of the Chargers recent struggles, they’re still a much better team than ‘Da-Bears. Final score: Chargers 27 – Bears 16.
Well, those are my takes for this week. I’d love to see yours. Be sure to catch me on twitter @BillWunkle.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
