Remember him? Shooter and DawgSoldier swore this guy was it!
He was just released from the Titans. Why? Because they needed to sign an undrafted rookie free agent who just had a tryout.
Wow. This isn’t a pick on anyone thread. Just goes to show, you never really know.
May 17, 2016 at 1:14 am #5252DawgSoldierParticipantWon’t be the last career derailed by back injuries.

May 17, 2016 at 10:48 am #5254MavParticipantHe’s very mediocre. He has a big arm. But that’s it. No accuracy, no anticipation, inability to read defenses. He’s the anti-Kessler. Maybe that’s what Hue sees.
May 17, 2016 at 11:00 am #5255ShooterModeratorI didn’t think he was “it”, I just thought he was the best of those coming out that year.
Meh, I’d still take him over Bridgewater lol.
I know that with the sterling reputation of prognastication that I have it’s impossible to believe that I can be wrong, but it does inf fact happen from time to time.
May 17, 2016 at 11:37 am #5256soupParticipantI recall being made fun of for stating that it was clear from his “highlights” he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. I also recall saying the same about Mallett and Wentz and that people only loved them due to size and arm strength.
Pure garbage. Move on.

Soup’s guide to internet glory;
1) Say something bad about every QB drafted
2) 3 years later when some QB’s are busts, perfectly recall that you said they sucked before the draft.
3) This is where I would type “Profit”, but actually no one cares.May 17, 2016 at 3:48 pm #5258MavParticipantActually he’s exactly right on this one. I recall because it was heated between me and soup vs shooter and that other dude. It’s okay though. Until of course we claim him. Ugh

On another note Mav, you should be happy this is one of the guys that fell through our scouting team.

#1 Be fucking awesome.
#2 Know almost nothing when speaking, but completely making it sound as if you do and thus appearing as damn near an expert.

I picture you drunk at this moment as everyone in this thread has counted right and you probably are too drunk to realize it.

He has already announced he will not be trying out for the Browns at this point in his career.
This, I cannot blame him for.

Word on the street, literally, is that he has a better arm than Derek Anderson, but not Brady Quinn.

Here’s a clue for you – when the first ting people talk about in a QB is his size and arm strength – and that’s their major plus – he’s a surefire failure. Size as the #1 asset as a QB is a sign that they suck.
Mettenberger (who the Browns thankfully didn’t look at as we had the #1 priority on the waiver wire)
Mallet
WentzSize isn’t that big of a deal. Arm strength is necessary – though many people with laser arms have a bad habit of throwing late. So as long as you can make all the throws – arm strength above that is meaningless.

May 20, 2016 at 5:33 pm #5290IceKeymasterIf I understand you correctly, you’re saying there’s a certain level of arm strength required of an NFL QB, and any more throwing power than that does not help a player. You used the word “meaningless”. I fundamentally disagree with you on that @Soup. Let’s say QB A can throw it 80 yards max, and QB B can throw it 60 yards max. If all else is equal QB A is a better qb. A QB who can throw it 80 yards can throw it 60 effortlessly, while QB B is throwing as hard as he can (accuracy struggles). It also means that QB A can throw the ball faster and with more zip when he wants to on shorter routes. Throwing power is a very important trait to a QB.

soup is definitely and expert on this one.
