His record as a starting QB is 14-21; after a 10-6 rookie campaign he was 4-15 going forward. We’ve just gotten rid of one circus act after two seasons. Do we really want to sign another one – albeit for different reasons? He’s shown himself to be a drama queen during the 4-15 stint. I’m not so sure that I want a player that I referred to coming…[Read more]

Bonus points to Shooter for working in the Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka reference. Browns told Karlos Dansby that they’re rebuilding with younger talent. That’s the story – bottom line. And with that said, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Sashi and the gang trade joe Thomas – maybe even in a draft day deal.

Interesting article. I don’t know if they’ll trade Joe Thomas this off-season, but if they do . . . (A) they had better get a king’s ransom for him and (B) they had better hit on every single pick they get for him.

Since they’ve already lost four starters from last year’s 3-13 roster; it seems like a number of people are asking the question, “Why don’t the Browns go ahead and blow the whole thing up, trade all their assets, gut the roster and get as many draft picks as they can? After all, they were 3-13 with them. Can it get any worse?” Well, this is…[Read more]

Did you ever wonder what would happen if NFL teams drafted strictly on a talent grade, regardless of need? I must admit, I’ve had that thought numerous times myself. Well, this year, curiosity has gotten the best […]

Dawson errrrrrrrr Dude is right. The Browns will sign some free agents – even if only a few – but they’ll be “second tier” free agents. No clue as to whim they may be targeting.
It was disappointing to see both Mack and Schwartz go. Evidently, the Browns had an offer on the table that wound up being more than what he settled for in KC. However,…[Read more]

The article was only for the top twenty. I don’t think that Lynch is worthy of a top 20 selection at this point in time. That may change, but it may not. We’ll just have to see.

When it comes to our beloved Brownies, it appears that – if they use the #2 pick on a QB – it’s still a two-man race between Goff and Wentz. Goff appears to be the more polished of the two where Wentz appears to have the higher ceiling. FYI: Wentz has been killing it during his combine interviews. Goff comes off as if he’s a little cocky or edgy.…[Read more]

I take it that he’s on ignore for you because you’re tired of him proving exactly how little you know about the game and are fed up with being embarrassed.
Are you truly that naïve to think that Hue Jackson won’t give his QB the option to audible out of a bad play when he recognizes a mismatch due to personnel and formation? If so, you must be…[Read more]

While DawgSoldier has already addressed this issue, I’d like to expound on what he and I both look for in a potential franchise QB . . .
HEIGHT: ideally, your QB should be 6′-4″ or taller to aid with overall field vision.
WEIGHT: an indication of solid bone structure – about 235-245 depending on height.
FRAME: solid skeletal structure is a…[Read more]

You want to talk injuries? Okay, let’s talk injuries. In a story dated 11-27-2014, Jared Goff underwent surgery to repair his separated right (throwing) shoulder in their 63-13 loss to Stanford in the season finale. He was fortunate that it was the season finale; otherwise, he would’ve needed to be redshirted. As it turned out, he was able to…[Read more]

Selective bias my a$$, Soup. In spite of his wrist injury (which was a fluke kind of injury), I’ll take my chances with the QB that’s been brought up in a pro style offense, has the prototypical frame and laser rocket arm over the 6′-4″ spindly-framed version of Colt McCoy.

I know what I want. I mean, that’s pretty easy. It’s the same thing that everyone wants. Tall, strong, can take a hit without exploding, can stand in the pocket, read a defense, deliver the ball with accuracy, strong arm, good footwork.
* “Can take a hit without exploding”. Well, that leaves Goff out of the competition. Hav…[Read more]
