The Browns have a lot of money invested in the offensive line. I like this move. This will solidify the RT position for the next 4 years.

Ice, I never thought about it from that perspective. I am not sure it would play much of a part considering the vast majority of players will go where the money is. You never really know though.

You are technically incorrect in saying the Browns have never exercised one of their own players fifth year option.
Phil Taylor’s fifth year option was actually exercised before the start of year 4 (May 2, 2014). He was cut Sep 1, 2015 before the start of the regular season.
