That was because of that bullshit transition tag a few years back. That contract was drawn up with Jacksonville, but to keep him, we had to honor it. So here we are, getting bit in the ass by a past GM.
Problem is, we really don’t have a replacement. He goes…and we have a real issue.
Far as is age goes, he’s likely got about 3-4 good years…[Read more]

It’s coming. And we have some holes that need filled, even BEFORE the Big Four that we have (Mack, Schwartz, Benjamin and Gipson) hit the market. Who do we try keeping? Who should we bring in?
DawgPoundDude started the topic Alex Mack Opts Out in the forum Browns Forum 10 years, 1 month ago
…as was totally expected. We still have a shot to keep him, however. One way or another though, he’s about to become the richest center in the game.
DawgPoundDude started the topic Brock Osweiler in the forum Browns Forum 10 years, 1 month ago
Denver just tagged Von Miller, so they aren’t going to be able to pay Brock. Admittedly, I don’t know much about the guy, other than his filling in when Manning went down, and not doing too shabby. Do you think he would be worth pulling the trigger on, even though you know he’s gonna be looking for a nice payday? If so, how do you think the draft…[Read more]

This has honestly become a case of comparing a really good chocolate cake to a really good cheesecake. I’ve read reports on both of these QBs and neither one of them are in any way a bad choice, as far as I’m concerned. It’s really going to boil down to what Hue wants for the foreseeable future…does he want a guy he can plug right in (Goff)? Or…[Read more]

Nope. Not only wouldn’t it want him, looks like the Browns are in agreement.

It ain’t happening…and it would probably be a disaster if it did.

I guess that’s improved with time…Goff fumbled 10 times his first year, 9 times his second…and a whopping 4 his third.
That’s not terrible, is it?
DawgPoundDude replied to the topic Hey draft guys, let's talk QB's. in the forum Browns Forum 10 years, 2 months ago
As it stands, from all I’ve read on both of those guys, Goff is the most pro-ready to jump in now, Wentz has the higher ceiling, but likely won’t be ready for 2-3 years.
I’ll say this much, regardless of which (if either, according to Jackson’s press conference yesterday) one we pick, there’s no real “wrong” choice. Because this team sure as shit…[Read more]

Preparing for 17 reasons why he’s so terrible. Seems like most here have their horses picked. I’m actually gonna watch some video on these folks and see what the hype is all about, and see if any receivers are bailing them out, footwork, stare downs, etc…screw those draft guys.

Yeah, it’s pretty broken. I wasted so many minutes just waiting for the load times…as the clock just ticks. I also put in wrong answers on purpose, and it was counting as right, no matter what.
Don’t bother, this is quite a shitty experience, and certainly not accurate. But, it does give you an idea on the test questions so…there’s that.

…really? Anyway, post your scores here if you take it. I’ll do it later when I’m not on my phone. Found this on, of all places, the Colts website.

It’s time to let go Soup. I hate to be the one to say this to you but…Frye is no good.
So I picked THIS moment to make sure you folks knew I was still here and reading stuff. Just ain’t no good with the draft stuff. Nice to read though.
DawgPoundDude replied to the topic Horton, Saunders and others round out Jackson's staff in the forum Browns Forum 10 years, 3 months ago
Yeah, Farmer put it to this team pretty good. And while I was initially all for keeping Pettine for continuity, I gotta say we’ve upgraded the coaching staff in every way.
It’s this new front office system that has me worried. That, and Haslam’s patience with said system.

[Quote]Completely agree. You also can’t dump a HOF player then use a pick to replace him. That’s the issue I refer to. Like letting Sheard walk and picking Orchard. Made no sense. Of course they under utilized Sheard. 2 sacks last year. NE who uses him properly – 8 sacks.

You ask me, it would be very difficult putting together a staff like this. There’s a lot of experience here. I honestly can say that Hue is at the least getting his hands on the best available guys.
Suddenly, next year doesn’t seem so bad.

Even Phil endorsed keeping Coons. Said that he’s doing a hell of a lot better than he was in his rookie season.
That said, I’d love to see him come back to retire in Cleveland. You know, before the season starts.

It’s really not the coaching that has me worried. It’s this new approach, whether or not certain players are still here, etc.

Now I’m seeing Tampa Bay’s DC Leslie Frazier is also a possibility. Don’t know much about him.
