Assuming this is directed at me. Kirksey isn’t an upgrade. That’s a fact. LBer is the position we need most in the team by far and it needs speed and instinct to play right. If Tampa messes up somehow and Lavonte David hits the market, he should be priority #1. Kirksey brings in more of the same

I should also point out that 6 other teams have been said to have ‘mutual interest’ with JJ just like Mary Kay says here. JJ’s agent is just trying to drum up interest. We can’t read much into these press releases.

I agree, and that’s why I’d use him as a 2 down pass rusher. Crazy idea, on 3rd and short or goal-line situations could he drop into a LB position?

Would JJ and Garrett compete for DPOY on the same team? Because I would enjoy watching that. At this point in his career JJ might just be a 2 down DE but I’m ok with that. With our offense crackalackin not many teams are gonna be able to run on us.

I would correct this to say ‘linebackers haven’t been a high priority for the Browns’. I think it needs to be a higher priority than it has been.

Watson MAY be better than Baker… now. 5 years from now I don’t think so. Watson also plays 9 (?) minimum dome games a year and is 1-4 vs our division opponents

Watson on 3rd down converted 55 1at downs on 128 passes 5TD 3 int. Mayfiled converted 52 on 125 passes. 6TD 4 int. Virtually indentical on 3rd down. That’s the key to maintaining drives.

Different offenses. Now look at his average attempts per year to Bakers now look at his team rushing compared to this year. 100% different offense. Watson may come in this offense and suck and not have chemistry. Next year Baker could be NFL MVP. Look at Lev Bell on the Steelers then after. Tannehill Dolphins then Titans. Scheme and chemistry matter.

Watson won’t take the team to any new level. Defense will.
