Thanks BF4L appreciate it. I liked yours too. It will be interesting to see how AB & KS construct their roster for sure.

see what I did was ask myself. Whats the minimum number of starters and reserves does a position need?
1 Starter plus 1 backup is usually the way I went except for the OL. IMO 3 guys can back up 5.
After that I tried to go where Talent and or special teams lead me. So every body that ends up as 3rd on the depth chart I expect to play a lot of…[Read more]

the reason I did 4 RB’s was for special teams and I had to make 55…..soooo
As for the LB corps. Yeah free agency and the draft next spring LB likely will be top priority IMO.
Could Laam make it sure, just depends how many OL thgey wana keep.

One I am carrying Hubbard as the swing Tackle. He is btter than Lamm. 2 I am carrying 5 TE’s in a 2 TE offence.

For those that missed it in March the New CBA agreement bumped up the roster to 55. So I did an even split of 26 for the O and the D and left 3 for ST.
Offense: 26
WR1 OBJ, DPJ*, Ratley
TE1 Hooper, Bryant*, Brown
LT Wills*, Hubbard
LG Bitonio, Teller
C Tretter, Harris*
RG Forbes
RT Conklin
TE2 Njoku, Carlson
WR2 Landry, Higgons, Natson

What ice. I have taken stands like this before when I see a clear athletic advantage between players before. I usually gone with the bigger stronger faster guy. If I am wrong oh well. But if I am right that will be awesome for the Browns.

With DPJ in the house Higgy in my mind is the 4th WR and the back up slot WR.
On the TE’s and Njoku. Ima 3 te set with aFB and RB and play action bassing to Njoku Hooper and Bryant. That will be fun to see.

The RB’s LB’s CB’s S QB are the only guys I see that have a glimer of a shot at making the bottom of the roster IMO.

The Browns currently have 11 picks in the 2021 draft, all 7 of their original picks plus an extra 3, 4, 5, and 7.
So if any or all of those 1 year rentals don’t work out, well they’re already for that. And if they all work out well then they have the ammo to go get folks they really want.
To semi quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail:

On DPJ to clarify. When watching him return the football upfield his stride and vison remind me of Cribbs along with his power to run thru arm tackles.
As a WR he suffered under harbaughs poor recrument of a descent QB. When the ball was in his area he usually caught it even though there was high percentage of off topic throws.
On the #1 Sparq…[Read more]

Round 1, Pick No. 10: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama (20 years old, PFF #11 overall)
My thoughts: Was very meh till i I saw Joe Thomas gush about the guy, Joe has sold me on him.Round 2, Pick No. 44: Grant Delpit, S, LSU (21 years old. PFF #15 overall)
My thoughts: To get the guy you wanted and an extra pick. Thats just good management. On to Delpit…[Read more]DawgSoldier replied to the topic Day 3 what do you think in the forum Browns Forum 6 years ago
Mackey award winner in the 4th. Great value
A scheme fit interior OL in the 5th. Depth or competition that doesn’t make the team.
5 star HS recruit that ended up in horrible offensive systems with bad QB’s. Watching him return kickoffs he reminds me a touch of Cribbs with the long stride and power. Watching him play WR he reminds me of the good…[Read more]

Shooter: if vernon and clayborn can’t generate pass rush that would be the only hole on defense
On offense RG is still an open question. I am hoping for forbes personally to take over.
3rd and 4th WR aren’t that strong ether. And with obj and landry coming off surgory that might be real important.
So I am expectijng a WR in the 4th round.
